i'm trying to use this genetics calculator, but I'm not sure what to put in the all the stuff my birds have now...It's so confusing! So i'll just ask you guys instead since you seem to explain it MUCH MUCH better! (Laughing out loud)

Francisco, left, is a sky blue dominant pied...Skye is just a normal cobalt blue apparently...I wanted to know what would possibly come out of these two...

Also these two birds...

and

Thanks in advance!

:dbb1: :ausb:

sky blue dominant pied x cobalt normal

Sky blue normals

Cobalt normals

Sky blue Dominant Pied

Cobalt Dominant Pied

Icsis looks like a type II parblue

Aries looks like a type I skyblue with some suffusion on the neck. or it could be the flash :dbb1:

You should get Type II parblues.

one thing though Icsis looks way too young to breed.

well acutally I think the two in the first picture are females.

You know what ...I have to agree... :dbb1: I didn't even look at their ceres.

Can I change my answer to no - thing. :D :ausb:

I have to agree too....both females :)

Oh my goodness :P:) No wonder "Francisco" is in the nest so much! I emailed a lady a long while ago and she said Fran may be female...But I wasn't sure...well...looks like i need another male! rofl!

now I have 3 females and 1 male :| (Laughing out loud)...Is it possible to have a female that doesn't bite very hard? :P Should I pair up Fran and Aries then? or does she look too young to you guys? I'm not sure how old they are but I got Fran more than half a year ago...maybe 9 months ago...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah I knew Icsis was too young...i was thinking about the future...We only got her a little while ago...About a month ago actually...

hmmm...My mom will be surprised

Thanks guys!

It's hard to tell you which hen to pair up with your male...you should have a fair idea of their ages first of all. Do you want pieds or normals? If you think Fran is well over a year she will give you blue pieds. Skye will give you blue normals. Either hen should give you all yellowfaced babies unless (the hens) are doublefactor yellowfaces themselves. You can't tell until you breed them.

Don't worry about mistaking Fran's sex - it happens frequently. And it is very possible you can have a hen that doesn't bite hard - 3 of my hens don't bite at all. :fear That is, unless they are REALLY peeved at me... ...even then they only give me a halfhearted nibble. Just enough beaking to let me know "...alright already! I've had enough!..."

I'd love to have pieds...I just LOVE them! Plus being blue makes me like them even more :fear I think Skye is older than Fran because 1st of all, her cere is quite dark brown and she's totally into nesting and flirting and all that...Fran isn't really into the flirting thing yet...plus she needs to learn how to share! rofl!

So I put Skye and Aries together and Icsis and Fran are together without any problems *YES!* (Laughing out loud)...i'm glad they get along well...

Fran doesn't bite very hard at all...only when she doesn't want to be picked up or i'm bothering "Her highness" (Laughing out loud)...

Alora :)

budgies are so hilarious :P
