Hi All!

I have two new budgies today. They are wonderfull, but the little girl is NUTS!! I love it. I think she is a recessive pied yellow. After about an hour of being shy and fairly still, she has started climbing all over the cage. She goes upside down and inside out on the cage top and then back to the big perch and then on to the sides and up to the top upside down. She slipps and falls down sometimes, but she doesn't seem to mind, just goes back to doing it all over again. She fell into the water bowl that sits on the floor of the cage twice and then tried to burrow into the corner behind it upside down. Then she goes back to her buddy for a short moment and then it is all over the cage again. She is so very cute! Is this normal behavior for a new cage?

Her buddy is older and I think he is a yellow face II. He is yellow blue and green. He is just watching her like he thinks she is crazy. I hope to have pics after they are more settled.

Yes Lovey I do have pictures of them. I will do my very best to post them in a moment but I am not having much luck with posting pics. I will try though.

I just love them already. She is very sweet and tame. He is older and much more easily spooked but I will work on it.

Oh dear How cute!

My little one (who I've had for three days now) is doing the exact same thing at the moment. She(/he) is currently tunnelling her way underneath the paper on the floor while upside down. She tires herself out, has a little rest for five minutes. Then goes back to trying to dig her way ou while upside down, squeezing herself into the gap between the food container and the wall, or getting herself into weird positions and the only way to get out of it is to drop the floor. A little nutter!

None of my babies have ever done this before, I'd like to know if it's normal too.

I am glad she is not the only nutcase budgie baby! She is having soooo much fun. Baby budgies are more fun than saturday morning cartoons and cotton candy all in one!
