I would add more brush in there that is bird friendly, trees in a pot?

Maybe extend some poles above the whole lot and stretch some shadecloth over it ? Install a sprinkler hose system too to cool down the metal roof and to mist the budgies on a hot day. Could be as simple as a couple of soaker hoses...the cheap green kind with holes in them ?

I was just thinking shade cloth over the top of the wire, but with the gap would mean the birds can't chew at it and put holes in it.

Try this idea. Put lengths of furing channels across the roof and lay thatch sheeting on the channels.

The channel being 40mm hiegh will allow air ventilation and will give a bush look to the whole structure.

This is what I am thinking of doing with my aviary. ;)

Rethink please Daz :P Mice LOVE thatch sheeting and breed well in and under it. I am pulling my thatch sheeting out of the aviaries for this very reason.
