Hmmm Whats Happening?

After stella my newest budgie, was placed in the aivery with the rest of the birds, all the budgies took their turn in...well "mating" with her but both male and females were doing this, its never happened before and all my budgie are around the same age give or take a month. what do you suppose this means?

( stella was quarrentined at the vets for several weeks, my vet has given her a perfect bill of health, she is part of the shoe box's rescue)

Probably just the excitement of a new bird + hormonal behavior. They sound a little overstimulated. It's probably time to do a big aviary makeover or you could end up with breeding as well as fighting.

I'm not sure how to do the makeover i limit 6-8 budgies and 2 teils per avairy,I dont provide nesting boxes and there is 1 dish of food per bird and 1 dish of water per bird, the aviary is 7 feet high 6 feet long and 3 feet deep with about 7 perches and different toys enough for everyone, i could probably fit 50 budgies in this thing comfortably, and i have several of these, now i was thinking of separting boys in one girls in the other but 75% of them are rescues and have come in pairs and i'm scared if i separate them i may lose some. any suggestions

you can change up the avairy like

1. move the perches around'

2. give them different type of perches

3. move the toys in different locations

just make things look different and interesting

I personally change Pretty and Merlin's cage around 2x a month and it is alot smaller then yours but changing, adding, removing different perches and toys mixes it up.
