[/color]After having Woodie and Cloud for nearly a year (not quite, but getting there) and I have noticed their distinct personalities. Here are how I would describe them:

Cloud

Mellow, laid back, chatter, playful, can stand on my hand/fingers for long periods of time. Can get aggressive with Woodie if she is sitting in his "spot" on the natural perch (forks into two, so he has one side and she has the other), usually it's not a problem unless it's bordering on a bickering fight, then he's put in time out! He flies and pretty much hangs around with Momma. If Woodie takes off, sometimes he follows. He loves the toys in the cage and is very curious about them and plays with them. Loves one on one time with Momma and gets curious about her glasses.

 

Woodie

More high strung, can be rather bossy, gets chased around by Cloud by just playing with toys or simply eating (the rascal he is!). She preens, chatters, and is the one most likely to fly and give Momma a hard time! She loves to be on top of the curtains--laughing at Momma!!! Has a tendency to fly like the Peanuts Woodstock, though not too often. She loves one on one time with Momma and is curious about her glasses.

Those are the observations I've had of them so far, I've only had them since January. They've both grown up so much! They went from being tiny little budgie wudgies to being nearly fully grown. I so enjoy having them and their company.

You definitely have that right, all my budgies are different from each other and all have their own endearances and oddities! (some more then others). And that is why I was so concerned when I had little Mindy in quarantine here for a month and then turned her over to an avian rescue place, she HAD no personality, she was " just there" most of the time. Thankfully she is doing okay in the rescue place, socializing with other budgies and hanging upside down from the aviary roof and walking around upside down, what a change! I really believe that each bird has their own predetermined personality and their enviroment and reaction to it determines the rest. :budgiedance:

I agree Merlin and Pretty are night and day but then at times they are the same :budgiedance:
