i would not touch the nest till you are sure that the eggs hve finished hatching, then to clean the nest i put some woodshavings in a shoebox put the chick in that clean the nest box then replace the chick

okay so no other eggs have hatched yet and i am not sure if anymore are cause well the eggs are no longer white cause they are covered in Fecal Matter and so is the entire wooden block on the bottom of the nest box so should i take the baby out and get ride of the eggs.

As well as clean the wooden block.

the eggs can be wiped with a damp cloth if you think they are going to hatch but once again i try not to touch the eggs at all once i have marked them if you do clean the box out are you putting a bit of wood shavings in the bottom of the nest this will help to soak up some of the Fecal Matter and keep the chick and eggs clean

no i don't have any shavings in the nest box but i was thinking about it once i get a chance to clean the nest box so that is it easier to clean.

I just never knew Budgies could be so messy none of my other birds were well besides Zebra Finches
