Must Be Scaly Face Season

Jelly has scaly face, i noticed today. I'll get dad to take me to the vet during the week to pick up some ivermectin. Seems like i've read about a lot of cases of scaly face lately! Does anyone know if you can just go to the vet without the bird to get it? Because it would be heaps easier if i don't have to take Jelly. I'm sure i would've had heaps left from when Tiki got it but it looks like mum must have thrown it out it a mass cleaning frenzy. :P

I believe there are different medications you can buy over the net I have seen them, ask Daz he would know I bet for sure.

the best reason to go to the vet is to make sure you are getting the right dosage.

Well i just need another little bottle with the eye dropper for the spot treatment, i'm pretty sure that if i said i got a budgie that has scaly face they could fix that up for me. I'll ring on Monday.

maybe you could phone the vet and see what he says?? Aw poor Jelly, Scaley face is sooo horrible! Yuck!

I had a genius idea! Tomorrow me and dad are going to Pet Expo which is across the road, i'll ring in the morning (excellent vet, open sundays) and see if we could pick up some ivermectin!

I got the ivermectin spot on treatment without taking the bird in.

Just a quick update, all - or most - of the budgies have been treated. Some were too slippery and i couldn't net them but i would say all but 2 have been ivermectin-ed. :budgiedance: Lets hope that Jelly gets better quickly.

I hope Jelly gets better quickly too! Hopefully none of the others will get it!
