Posted September 4, 200618 yr I am absolutely heart broken. I arrive home from work today to find the door to my budgies aviary open and all (except one that cant fly properly) my breeders gone.I just couldnt believe my eyes. I am just so upset. I loved those little mites like I love my family and now they are all gone. Some of them I had hand reared myself and spent so much time on them. I dont know what to do or where to turn. Someone obviously would have had to open the cage as the catch was secure when I last opened their cage. Life is so cruel sometimes.
September 4, 200618 yr OMG Jenene I'm so so sorry to hear this, make up a lost flyer now and pass around your neibourhood put up in shoping centers and give to selters/rspca. Put out a dish of seeds on the ground just inside the cage maybe some will find their way back. I can't believe someone would do that! Well I guess I can since I padlock mine, but I also have a fear of leaving doors open since I once did that as a kid at my granddad place and caused a fight with his chooks. But I'll have my fingers crossed that someone out there can find your feathered family to give them a good home.
September 4, 200618 yr Author I dont know. I could hear one in a gum tree not far away so with a bit of luck (something I'm not having much of) some of them might find their way home. But with all those crows etc around here I dont hold much hope I'm afraid.
September 4, 200618 yr I am so very terribly sorry Jenene I hope you get some back. My thoughts are with you.
September 4, 200618 yr Author It is only just starting to sink in and am feeling physically sick. Thanks everyone for your sentiments. What an awful day - and then to top it all off Steve Irwin is killed. What a sad, sad day.......

September 4, 200618 yr Author He was in Cairns filming a documentary when he was bitten by a sting ray and died instantly. The whole of Australia is in shock.

September 4, 200618 yr hugs I would see if you could take the remaining one and put it in a separate cage and leave the aviary door open with food and water maybe some will come back. Also do the flyers. ((hugs))
