Posted September 3, 200618 yr Hi. After many, many months had gone by , I decided to get another budgie for my Chico, he lost his mate and seemed lonely. Well I foolishly put his new friend straight into the cage without any quarantine at all.. :fear I hadn't realised the implications of disease and fighting etc.. However they seem to be getting along very nicely, no major fighting or pecking etc.. I have noticed that they appear to groom each other around the face/beak etc.. Is this normal behaviour, they dont seem to squawk or make loud noises, infact they look like they are kissing at times. Can anyone advise me if this seems okay... Thanks jane
September 4, 200618 yr All sounds like it tuned out alright, just watch them both for any signs of sickness. Grooming each other is a normal behaviour of bonding ( this doesn't mean breeding) grooming the hard to reach places such as around the beak and eyes is a high level of trust between the two.
