Posted August 31, 200618 yr some may remember my little YFT2 grey opaline greywing male, rocky, he's been getting darker with age and more green is it possible he has a dark factor in his genes as well? these aren't the pest pics of him he was a little stressed out as I had to catch him to take pics.. in reality he's slightly lighter than he is in this picture; this one is pretty acurate; what do you guys think?
August 31, 200618 yr yes YF have dark factors as well, with the adding of the yellow it will change the grey to a grey-green look which will make him look darker.
September 1, 200618 yr Dark Factors, I know will act on the green to give Dark Green and Olive. and on Blue to give cobalt and mouve. Not sure if the dark factor will work that way on grey. A grey bird is a blue bird with the grey gene. A grey green bird is a green bird with the grey gene. Not sure about Slate (sex linked gene) or the new one. Arco..... I'll have to look this one up. :wine Edited September 1, 200618 yr by daz
September 1, 200618 yr in the grey dark factors just darkent he grey, so you have light grey (none) grey (one) and dark grey (two) the dark grey is lighter in colour to the arco one.
