September 30, 200618 yr I can't imagine trying to ring they looks so fragile, I would be afraid to to hurt them. I was the same way now after ringing 50 odd chicks it's becoming second nature. What I am now worried about is the "Crop Needle" I havn't needed to use it yet but I know there will come a time. aww Daz super cute Three Opalines in the first one I see biggrin.gif I have my fingers crossed for you with the pieds. I havn't thought of colours and types yet. I leave that to when they are fully feathered, or close to it. If the first two are opaline they will be females. Edited September 30, 200618 yr by daz
September 30, 200618 yr Author they look Opaline to me Lovey great names I like: Opal, Rascal, Seven and Jasper.... Bea has a Jasper so I'll drop that one Seven becuase he is the seventh baby born overall Rascal is just cute Opal is cute too..... Opal it is If he is a yellowface it suits because Opals are blue with hues and flecks of other colours and if he becomes an Opaline well it speaks for itself
October 1, 200618 yr What I am now worried about is the "Crop Needle" I havn't needed to use it yet but I know there will come a time. Me too Daz. It's been going through my mind too and wish I had someone to show me how. Having lost a couple of babies that didn't successfully take the syringe method
October 1, 200618 yr Author A small tube that you put down the budie throat which lets you put the food right into the crop. I wouldn't want to use one either The last Bub hatched over night WOOT. I havn't see him yet buried under all his siblings but I found the egg shell with the number on it. Will try for a picture later today. It wonderful to see the difference in Cupid and Tingle. One is so dark the other white. Storm and Darel are both getting black dots, as is Ringo's Kazza
October 1, 200618 yr One thing I probibly missed Nerwen is how are Jazz's two eggs going? Edited October 1, 200618 yr by daz

October 2, 200618 yr Nerwen they're cute. Where did you get the rings from... I have some left over from changing to the breeders rings. Next time your over you can have them.
October 2, 200618 yr Author :(Laughing out loud): Daz your a sweetie. I got them from a pet store, one I think is very good. Plus I asked at two places for some rings and this pet store was the only one able to tell me when they could get more in. I had ever seen metal ones before only the plastic coloured ones like you used on your older birds. Might have paid a bit more but I thought it worth it. They are made by Complete Pet and Vet supplies. Edited October 2, 200618 yr by Nerwen
October 2, 200618 yr I just counted and have 23 metal closed rings with numbers on them that I won't be using, so you can have them. Up date on the chicks... The oldest is continuing to look like an opaline but I think the second oldest maybe a spangle. I'll get a photo up tomorrow. Edited October 2, 200618 yr by daz
