September 28, 200618 yr Thanks lovey...im on 'weather naming' sites...i dont want to steal Nerwns good name... HAHA Loveyy It cannot be an ablino (dark eyes)...but you are right about a white or a recessive (Laughing out loud) Kirby
September 28, 200618 yr not saying it is or isn't but what if it was a different baby where it could be that combination , are not the eyes dark when they are first born no matter what? I haven't seen an albino baby this young so just asking. ahh but coming back would a pied have some splotches of the black pin feathers then?
September 28, 200618 yr Author Well think the colouring would still be up in the air, I only guess at opaline becuase of the past history of their chicks and what colours they gave me. oh and thanks for the french lesson Kirby Edited September 28, 200618 yr by Nerwen
September 28, 200618 yr uys! Cosmo...do you have a journal for all of us to see your babies? Id love to see them grow up! Kirby
September 28, 200618 yr not yet i've only got the camera on my phone and i am trying to find the software so i can put them on the computer and post them
September 28, 200618 yr Author Well I moved Kree out this morning, Ringo was very cranky with him so she is now all alone, Little Kazza is still being feed. He settledin nicely this afternoon with the others in tweetaville. Also during the day I saw Tootie's egg number 3 kicked to the side, I left it be then but it was still there later on (around 4) so I picked it up and it was cold. Opening it I found a lot of yolk and a small blackish bubble, couldn't tell it was anything that would have formed as a chick or not. I have no idea why this one didn't devolop but it really shows that a hen knows there is something wrong with an egg, the other two not yet due are still being kept warm.
September 28, 200618 yr Well think the colouring would still be up in the air, I only guess at opaline becuase of the past history of their chicks and what colours they gave me. oh and thanks for the french lesson Kirby I don't doubt you, you have taught me so much I just had to giggle at the cute pink glob but if it is opaline I have NO doubt (I am serious) Well you get what you ask for huh if you are cranky you end up single keep us updated.
September 28, 200618 yr Congratulations Nerwen the chick will be either a sky blue or cobalt and will be a yellow face or clean cap. Just like its borthers and sisters If male it will be split to cinnamon and recessive pied. If female it will be split recessive pied. I would be thinking down the track to breed it against a recessive pied. It's lineage is a ganzer/gearing bird. It also has a lot of Blair & Poole in it. A very special little bird.
September 28, 200618 yr Author Thank again for that info Daz will all those names you can dish out I got a bit lost I was half right I was thinking Ganzer. Ringo's second egg hatched today Both are so so tiny. Good Grief I finnally did a leg ring!!! It took me forever to get it on about ten tries as the foot was kicked just at the wrong time Roughly twenty mins with the eldest (Cupid) and a bout the same for the second (Tingle) I'm sure I have then the right way around now since Cupids foot was bigger, I'm glad I tried today and not tommorrow as stated in the Budgie Tracker, I don't think I would have got it on. Not sure if it will stay on Tingles foot but After the other I thought I should put it on today and see. The band didn't stay on Tingles now I have to find it in the box with all the shavings :glare: and try again Kirby has helped me with the name of Ringo's little one, he suggested Mika which I liked and I changed it slightly to Minka. Mini for short :glare: Edited September 29, 200618 yr by Nerwen
September 29, 200618 yr Woo lots of babies. Like the names too And I'm glad Ringo is turning out to be a good mum. Pity about Kree, I'm sure, one day, you'll find a budgie she likes (Laughing out loud). You shoud nick name her little miss fussy (Laughing out loud) Scuttle rarely gets called by his name, oh By The Way completely off topic: he;s taken to landing on my head and chewing my hair and climbing up my shoulder. I'm trying to get him to work on his flying distances :offtopic:
September 29, 200618 yr Author Thanks PP I'm glad Ringo is doing well too, with out Kree she seems to be coming out more often to eat now, but along with the bits of millet I got a bottle lid and filled it with seed to put in the box with her, not sure if she has found it yet but it makes be feel better. Kree is having a ball in the avairy Poka is giving him a warm welcome with lots of flirting tips :offtopic: Bub number 5 is here this morning in Tootie's box (piccies comming) and I found out both band fell off sometime yesterday So I've rebanded Cupid this morning and I still have to find the other ring Also I forgot to shut the box again and Marine knows the way out now, thank god I shut the door before starting cause my cat was going nutty on the couch! okay enough yapping I'll get those pictures for you. Five little ones: Cupid: Marine: Edited September 29, 200618 yr by Nerwen

September 30, 200618 yr Author thanks bubbles Did okay with the Ringing it never fell out of my hand and only once off the foot this time when I was getting it on, and that was only becuase I forgot the toothpick to get the toe out. It's still on for now, fingers crossed it stays, I still haven't found the other ring :offtopic:
September 30, 200618 yr I still haven't found the other ring :offtopic: does that entail sieving budgie poop to see who ate it ?!
September 30, 200618 yr Author :offtopic: gods I hope not!!!!! I just need a bit of extra time to dig though the wood shavings to find it. Lovey when you see this give me a list of names for the new one I'll pick out that. Edited September 30, 200618 yr by Nerwen
September 30, 200618 yr Nerwen do as I do, Collect all the shavings from that box and spread it out on a concrete block. If it is there it is easier to find.. I know I have to do that this morning. Found the ring. :offtopic:
September 30, 200618 yr Author I was going to wait for tommorrow to get it and put it on Tingle. Since it fell off the other when it was done a day early. But Tootie is spending a bit of time out of the box today becuase it's quite warm. Well I just removed them all and had a dig around with Tootie chewing me up and still nothing :offtopic: There is a lot of shavings still in that box. Would it matter if I didn't use that number? Edited September 30, 200618 yr by Nerwen
September 30, 200618 yr Don't worry about the sequence of numbers, it doesn't matter. The ring I placed on the chick the first time was PR-6 391. I rung a few other chicks today. That chick ended up being PR-6 395. I cleaned out the box and found the ring. The next chick I ring will be PR-6 391. So long as your records are correct. :offtopic:
September 30, 200618 yr Author thanks daz you calmed me down again :offtopic: I was thinking they needed to be in order. I have enough for each bub with a few spares. The last egg had a few small cracks in it as if the one inside was hatching, but there is still a big air bubble so I think it's siblings might have done the damage, or I could be totally wrong and it is hatching. I only found the cracks after picking it up to check it.
September 30, 200618 yr I hope it is hatching... Here is a few photos I took this afternoon. 41 deg C in the aviary today. A bit hot. It is cooler in the nest box. I think I woke someone up. yep sure did.. The two older ones are 17 & 14 days. The youngest of the 6 is 3 days. Hopefully these are the recess pieds... Edited September 30, 200618 yr by daz
September 30, 200618 yr Author aww Daz super cute Three Opalines in the first one I see I have my fingers crossed for you with the pieds. I check becuase there was a bit is noise going on and the egg was still there around 8, it is due tommorrow if I remember right. Edited September 30, 200618 yr by Nerwen
September 30, 200618 yr okay, I caught up and I see a similar BOND cute cute cute...and I wish I lived in Australia :(Laughing out loud): just to see that gorgeous budgies. I can't imagine trying to ring they looks so fragile, I would be afraid to to hurt them. Names (I feel priviliged thank you for asking), lets hope the name you pick goes with the sex . You know me I am into meaning. Opal Oppie (if any opaline or just because) Rascal (yes been watching the L'Rascels) Darla Spanky Buckwheat Petie September Meaning because he was born in Sept Seven (for the 7th month) this was interesting (Laughing out loud) According to the Georgian calendar, September is the ninth month. But, on the Roman calendar, it was the seventh month. September has had 29 days, and 31 days; but, since the time of the emperor Augustus, it has had only 30 days. Morning Glory for the flower (or just Glory) Aster (which I read is the flower too (Laughing out loud)) Sapphire (for the gem) Other name of gems that are related to Sept Peridot Chrysoprase http://www.crystal-cure.com/chrysoprase.html Jasper Topez I know I get too much into meaning but without knowing the color of this new baby it is hard for me . If you don't like any of them tell me and I will think more or if you know what color the baby could be.
