Thats okay Nerwen,you know I am the same, I don't want to stress the birds at all. I want to try something. I have been told that the eggs can be kept for some time in a cool dry location and be okay to put under another hen. As I have set a number of pairs, i'll wait until one starts to lay and then place the egg there.

Yes Nerwen.. she is still interested... Sitting all day, her eggs are always VERY WARM... im just worried becuase Chico (Ariels hubby) started moulting... so did Ariel somewhat...or maybe shes just getting bored and all ruffled from sitting on eggs for a month :ausb: I might try giving Ariel the oldest egg...the day before it hatches... so then she wont have to wait for the youngest egg to hatch if i gave her one of the youngest eggs....

 

HAHAHA YAY NERWEN!!!!! Her 5th egg is here? So shes got 6 in total? Were the same then! Then Belle will have 6th tomrrow... Best of luck Nerwen and Daz...

It's been two weeks now and by this week end the 20 odd days will be up with Kree and Ringo, now I'm torn on if I should leave them set up or not. If I do leave them I can use Ringo as a foster mum.

Well she seems happy in the box and such so I can wait a few more days/weeks.

 

adding: Tootie's egg number 5 is here (yesterday afternoon) but Ringo hasn't laid another since her egg number 4 (second in box) she is healthy and moving around so I'm not worryed about egg binding.

I was gonna ask if you reckon you might get another one with the same colorings as Scuttle coz you said you wanted one after seeing him I was surprised at his colors after he finished molting, he's just adorable and very pretty. So it would be cool if you got another one.

By The Way, I was pleased that he hopped onto your finger, must mean I'm doing something right if I have a friendly bird, even if he does like to bite me.

Jazz has laid two more eggs

 

Jazz is from Karen.

She now has 9 eggs.

4 from a recessive pied, 1 from an albion an lutino, and 5 of her own. Last two were laid yesterday and monday.

 

Interested in swaping two clear for these last two?

Daz you just like to tease The clear ones are Ringo's two, she still hasn't laid any more. I am going to Lawton today for cermics (pine cermics) but I think I want to focus on her bonding with Kree more thank just giving her babies.

 

DAZ GUESS WHAT!!!!!!

Tootie hoped out of the box so I had a lookie at the egg, I hold the torch I use in the box very close to the eggs, so I'm not touching them to see the progress of red, and saw something in your egg so I picked it up and yep fine red lines showing up It's only day 4 for this egg I wasn't planing on checking but WOOHOOO, her own egg on that day is fertile as well so five possible babies now. Find out later today if she is going to lay any more.

Thats great ...and guess what. She laid another egg today. So I have two in the special box. I hope my experiment works.

I checked the eggs before putting them under Ringo and the one marked 9 already has some lines in it :budgiedance: So that means if Ringo sits correctly it will hatch the same time as Tootie egg 4 and the other one. The other is clear of cause still, I removed Ringo egg three as it's crystal clear, so his her egg 4 and I will remove that in a few days once I'm happy with her sitting on the new ones.

 

Can you remind me of Jazz's Partner? Even though I just remembered your site and will most likely visit that now.

I heard Marine singing a bit strongly just a second ago and saw Tootie-fruity was out of the box so had a look since she was due for an egg today and her 6th was there!!! So she is sitting on seven. Fingers crossed she stoped now or I'll have her on 8 soon :(Laughing out loud):

Well got to get home and see if another chick has hatched.

Breeding Cage 8 Update

 

All 8 eggs are fertile.

 

Eggs 1 & 2 have hatched - Both a day late but here.

 

Egg 3 was due today so that will make it tomorrow or Saturday.

 

The two eggs that I gave you Nerwen was from a 10 egg clutch. That makes 8 in the clutch. 1 was eaten thats 7 but when you and I counted the eggs there were 6. I know all the fostered eggs were there but 1 is missing? I didn't know at the time to look. Hopefully it was under the wood shavings or she has eaten another egg. :budgiedance: Hope she doesn't touch the DG eggs.
