Sign Of A Good Mom?

Boidie and Sweetpea have been together for a while now I've had the nest box on the cage from the start, I peeked inside yesterday and someone has been inside, made a nice little nest in the pine shavings, Sweetpeas cere isn't brown yet, so this behaviour seems weird to me, Jane didn't pay any attention to the nest box before her cere turned brown, I also noticed Boidie also doing courting behaviour, is nest building prior to cere changing a sign of a good hen?

Well it depends on what you call a good Mom?

I seems that she is doing all the right things but she will need to lay the fertile eggs, hatch the chicks & feed them. Time will tell. All the best though.

How old is she? If she is just out of condition, the male will be able to bring her in condition by his breeding behavior. But if when you say her cere hasn't turned brown yet you mean she is not over a year old, then please take the nest box out as she is much too young to breed. You really won't know if she is a good mom until eggs are laid, incubated, and hatched, unfortunately.
