Posted August 29, 200618 yr Hi , Im new on this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me. Esther (my budgie)lost her husband earlier this year and has now taken up with her son. I am concerned about any deformitys ? Should I separate. Any advice would be welcome.
August 29, 200618 yr Budgies don't usually recognise their young after they leave the box. She will think it is another male. As Hath said just don't give them a nest box and they will be fine.

Most breeders I've spoken with will go no furhter than this and then only if they have to eg: to strenghten a line in breeding. Mating brother and sister can create problems, which you certainly can do without. drinks_wine.gif Cheers
August 30, 200618 yr Common practise is Aunt to nephew or Uncle to Neice. Grand Father to Granddaughter. This is with Show Birds though.
