I let Scooter out today to excercise, and he flew into a mirror. The mirror is down pretty low and he usually flies up above it. But today he came down from the ceiling fan and flew into the mirror. He actually hit it a few times (about 4 times) before I could catch him. He finally landed behind my VCR cause I guess he got pretty dizzy after hitting the mirror, and I was able to get him back to the cage. He seems okay. He's sitting on his perch. Has no problem with balance or anything and has been preening himself. He's tired, but he usually takes a nap after flying around anyways. I offered him some millet and he gobbled that up in no time. There are no visible injuries and no blood. The only thing that's noticable is that his cere is a little bruised. Do yall think he's okay? Should I take him to the vet tomorrow (they are closed for the day) or just keep an eye on him for now?

 

And the mirror is going to be covered up from now on. I don't want to take any more chances.

I would keep an eye on him he is probably okay. I had Merlin do the same thing, he actually flew to our 2nd floor and ended up in our bedroom nutty bird. Pretty has never done that anyways. He was panting hard, wings out and napped for a while. If you find he is fluffed up, sitting in the corner and not looking right then I would certainly make an appointment with the avian vet.

He isn't acting any different than he normally does. He's not fluffed up either. I think he's probably okay. I'll just let him relax the rest of the day, and put him on his playgym this evening to see if he's acting normally.
