Well I have my very first round of babies! I have 3 pairs with chicks and another 3 who are still sitting.

 

You know how sometimes you get those hens that just won't stop squarking and carrying on when you look in the nest box? The babies tend to copy this, and what I'm wondering is, will the babies grow out of this once they leave the nest and are transferred to stock cages and get used to me without mum making such a racket?

Try checking the box when the hen is out. I also used to cut a small piece of millet and offer it to the hen if I needed to check it while she was still in it. She will be hungry. :bluebudgie:
