Sneezing?

Featured Replies

My budgie Scooter is sneezing. It's not all the time though. I've noticed he only sneezes when he's preening, after scratching his head, or after fluffing up. He acts completely healthy. Is this normal or could he be sick? Is he just getting some feather dust up his nose? It's usually a dry sneeze. If there is any discharge it's very, very little and it's clear. There's no crusty or wet feathers above his cere. Thanks for any help.

I think that sounds normal, if it's only one or two at those times and not more I wouldn't worry. Birds on a mostly seed diet will sneeze, and I've noticed mine in the past to sneeze at those times. The only way we see discharge is the wet feathers above the cere so if that is clean I wouldn't worry. If they get stronger or more often a vet trip work be a good idea.
