Posted August 16, 200618 yr I usually use one of my children's cameras to take pictures of Bluey, but he is not happy when I do because of the auto flash, so I pulled out our digital camera which doesn't have the auto flash and this series of photos was the result. Oh NO! Not another one of those silver things with a round, black circle. Hey, I'm not instantly blind! Something is different about this one. Maybe I can get a closer look from over here. Could you come closer, please? Closer... And with that stance you can probably guess the photo opportunity was over and Bluey was discovering the camera, which I think is all plastic and didn't do him any harm. August 16, 200618 yr OOOh where did you get Bluey and her cage from?? She is just gorgeous!! What a poser!! hehe
August 16, 200618 yr :hap: She is a cutie... I couldnt help but notice you kept calling her a Him in your post, but looks like you have a very sweet She instead of a He, judging by everyone elses replys i think they all agree that you have a little she too
August 17, 200618 yr He he, I thought those pictures might create some debate. I'm sorry the colours aren't really true-to-life - older camera. Our walls are pink and Bluey's cere is sort of pink and I'm watching for white circles around the nostrils - none yet. He does do a lot of head-bobbing. Almost everything came from PetStock in Ballarat and Bluey was the only budgie in the aviary without a tail and I just HAD to have 'him'. I will continue to call him a 'him' because our vet said he was most likely a 'him' after blowing on his privates. That's how my dad used to sex his birds. On another note, our vet has never heard of Aviclens (and Petstock didn't have any) and I'm wondering where I can buy it? I had some success sprouting seeds and now I'd like to do it more safely.
August 18, 200618 yr okay...Bluey is a girl. Get a load of how obliging she was today when I took her outside and took some more photos of her cere. What are we doing out here? What are you doing with that thing again? Is this close enough for you? Are you sure I'm a girl now? Huh?!? I believe females don't generally talk, but I think I've heard mutterings. :hap:
August 18, 200618 yr Very cute, be happy she doesn't RUN from the camera like my guys (excepting cockatiel). :greenb:
August 18, 200618 yr OOh where did you get your cage from?? Can I bother you with the dimensions??? Sherrie, have you checked your private messages lately? The cage is 45cm across the front, 34cm deep and 38cm high without the plastic base. It came from PetStock and I think they had a special on at the time because it was $89 (I think) and came with a calcium perch, ladder and a couple of toys along with the usual perches and feeders.
August 19, 200618 yr On another note, our vet has never heard of Aviclens (and Petstock didn't have any) and I'm wondering where I can buy it? I had some success sprouting seeds and now I'd like to do it more safely. Do you mean Multi-clens? In theory Petstock should have it. Here's a list of retail outlets in Victoria. http://www.wombaroo.com.au/Vic%20retail%20outlets.htm For sprouting I have invested in a bio-snacky germinator. Absolutely fantastic, actually almost too good. If you want more details please feel free to pm me.
August 19, 200618 yr no there is a aviclens from vetafarm. I havn't seen it my pet stock but other pet shops have it in.
August 19, 200618 yr Yep, just checked up on it. Similar thing, multiclens has Chlorhexidine digluconate 10mg/ml whilst aviclens has Chlorhexidine gluconate 10mg/mL. I guess they really are a similar thing just made by 2 different companies.
