Changing Colour?

Hiya, is it possible for a budgie to change colour after his first moult? Oscar was a sky blue colour when he was a baby but the new feathers growing in are a brighter blue/aquamarine colour. what do you guys think?

Yep that is what happenes with the Yellow Face Type 2 gene as he molts each time he may more the green color as the yellow bleeds through. hence blue and yellow make green :(

aww I finally knew an answer to a question and Lovey beat me too it (Laughing out loud)

but yes the yellowfaces change colour because when we bought Stitch home he was a proper blue on his body but now he's a seagreen almost all over .. which kinda makes his name weird but he keeps us in stitches so it'll do (Laughing out loud)

Your welcome and awe sorry about that Mandie :(

 You might be able to explain yours away Mandie and Cheeky, but we called our budgie BLUEY! :hap:

Fortunately Smudge was already showing signs of being a yellowface type II (not that I knew that was what colour he was when I bought him!) and was named accordingly, since he looked like a blue and a green budgie smudged together...but he was still mostly pale blue in body. Now he is turquoise-ish on his chest with a green patch on his back and a blue patch around his bum...but he looks different every day depending on the light - colour changing budgies are fun!
