Hey guys!

Heres the newest member of my flock ;) Tweety :)

Whats her colouring? I hope yellow faced blue type II, becuase shell be bred to my copbalt spangle male Oscar :) and i want yellow faced spangles :hap: (Laughing out loud)

http://s38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...cal&media=image

Shes a cinnamon opaline, has bright yellow face, and a mixture of blue, turquise, and yellow body...

Kirby :hap:

aww she looks like little Bao ;) Not seeing a lot of blue, but the green doesn't match what I would think of for a baby green.

(Laughing out loud) so what do you think she is?... Other than ;) (Laughing out loud)

And what would she create if bred to cobalt spangle male? Thanks ! ! !

Kirby :)

Her coloring reminds me of my greywing. I would say type 2 yellowface skyblue opaline. I don't really see the cinnamon, her cheek spots look black and the shell markings to me just look a bit diluted. But a lot of times what the camera picks up isn't displayed properly on the monitor. She's a doll.

Looks almost exactly like my Bungee......f4734a88.jpg

no blue on your bird from what I can see. Definitely cinnamon though.

Bungee is blue..... ?????

What am I missing? :)

I didnt say Bungee was blue. Nathan (Kirby) has commented that he believes his new bird to be type 2 with blue in it but I am saying I see no blue on his bird. :P It may be a mintor thing...what we see on our monitors isnt always true. Just as you dont see the cinnamon on your monitor Rainbow.

Yes Kazza!!! (Laughing out loud) Thats all i was thinking about, was lil Bungee when i got her, i almost called her Bungee, or Junoir :) (Laughing out loud)

Shes DEFINATELY cinnamon! Her markings are VERY brown, even browner than Bungee's markings. So you guys all think blue series? YAY! :P ((Laughing out loud) except Karen)... And what would she have when bred to a cobalt spangle? Thanks!

Kirby, I see what you are talking about. It will be more noticeable after the molt.

Sorry Rainbow. Bungee isnt blue either :P unless you can see something I can't, but pale green no blue from this end.

I thought of Boa but Bungee is a match too :)

I'm with Rainbow in what she is but I see Cinnamon.

What babies you will get are the ones I listed for you in the PM.

Blue spangles, Blue normals, YF spangles, YF normals.

All boys split for opaline and cinnamon.

Go to my thread under Pictures called "New Birdie"... RaINBOWS BIRD LOOKS identical TO WHAT tWEETY LOOKS LIKE NOW (aS IN WHEN tWEETY GOES THROUGH 1ST MOULT, I KNOW SHELL LOOK exactly LIKE THE picture Raibow posted)...

(Whoooops!...Dont mind the Capslocks... My bad)

Kirby :)

Bubbles, the only green I see on Bungee is a little above the tailfeathers and through the wings, but it looks more yellowish than pure green. It looks like the blue + yellow = green kind of green instead of the normal kind of green.

**How much sense did that make??? :):P **

To me, the body looks a very pale (diluted), almost slatey-looking grey-blue with little greenish tints splashed through. I love the color, whatever it is!

Whoa YAYAYAYAYAYYAYA NERWEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

You think shes a yellow face skyblue cinnamon opaline type II??? YAY! :P And those babies are PERFECT!!!!! As long as i get my yellow face spangles im good to go! :) (Laughing out loud)

Isnt it funny how differently we see things based on colours on a monitor? You guys know a bit more than me about genetics though so I concede to a higher power here....Nerwen and yourself Rainbow. I just dont see blue on my bird Bungee, which is not to say it isnt there either. Thanks for comments, I will look more closely. Bungee has just been separated from the main aviary as she was too young to breed and was thinking about it.

yeah it's a grey blue look, kinda what Ringo and Connie looked when younger.

Bubbles, how old is she? I will be anxiously awaiting any babies she has. I think she is just gorgeous!

Long time to wait for this one ( Bungee ) to have babies. She is about 10-12 weeks old. :D

HAHAHA GUYS :P

Tweety's only 6 weeks :P (Laughing out loud)

Shes pretty tame, or shall i say trusting already. Steps up, walks on hand, and arms... She nibbles arm hair, lickings and chews my finger nails ((Laughing out loud)) and likes when i talk to her. She isnt afraid to try new things, and since i got her, she now LOVEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS millet (what baby budgie would? :D ) celery (the shaft part, as well as the leaves), carrots (the tini baby ones), and shes already eaten tons of her seeds! Lil piggie! :D

And yes, i do think she is what rainbow said... a skyblue yellow faced type II cinnamon opaline :D Shes got so much blue in her, and hardly any normal green colour that ive seen on a budgie to be considered a green series... Also, her yellow face looks more like a yellowface blue series birds than a green series one if that makes any sense... Her cheek patches are a deep violet, or a bright fushia, and they are relativly large (bit bigger than her button eyes)... Opaline is my new favourite colour (other than pied spangles, and yf spangles)... I love their markings and have had many skyblue opalines (Chicos siblings) but sadly didnt keep any of them.. so Tweety is offically my 1st opaline bird im keeping! :D (Laughing out loud)

I already love her to death as you can probably see :P (Laughing out loud)

okay guys, i have a new name i like, that my mom has been nagging me to name her... It is...

:D ~*Emma*~ :D

I thought about it at first, becuase shes the exact colour of an emerald diamond...and my family loves the name Emma more than Tweety...

My brother wants me to name her Lilly or Daisy... :D Ao.. what name should i name her?

Tweety, Emma (short for Emerald), Lilly, or Daisy? This is sooo hard! And Oscar will be her hubby, so try and mix then (ie. Oscar and Emma sound good, but Oscar and Tweety dont really...)

Thanks guys!

Kirby :D

Sudney- Australia

Jazzie- Jassmine

Lilly- Lilliane

Angel- Godess from heaven

Grace- Gracie (blessed)

Maggie- Maggie

Laila- Curry's wife (my favourite pair karen has)

Feona- Shreks girlfreind from movie 'Shrek'

What do you guys think? I like Emma, Grace, and Feona best You?

Kirby :)

Hey guys!

Heres mew shots of Emma! (It's final, Emma it is! :P ) These pics were taken in sunlight, so they are as good of a picture as i could get to show her true colours...

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e104/pet...13/MVC-015F.jpg

Heres link to rest of them  Then you can also see my main birds in their big cage. A you can see i seperate Chico and Ariel in the upper part (smaller part, but is still 32" x 21" x 18" :P ) then Oscar, Kirby, and Belle in lower... You can see the two nest boxes i have for them to choose, and of course Ariel picked the natural log you see in the left hand corner. They mated today!!!!!! Remember before they never mated, so past 3 clutches were infertile? Well today Chico built up his confidence, and got on 3 times, with 1 looking semi-successful... Her poop is double the size it is today than what it was yesterday so soon eggs! ;) So, enjoy it guys!

Kirby :)

okay what colour is this bird then:

http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1958/mint2.jpg

Thats IDENTICAL TO EMMA IN EVERYWAY!!!!! Cinnamon, opaline, yellow face, then the turquise neon green/blue colour! Thanks guys!

Kirby :)

Guess this answer what Emma is then ;)

"Thus, a skyblue Type 1 yellowface would look skyblue with a yellow face. A skyblue Type 2 yellowface would look aqua blue-green colored with a yellow face. Below, the first two pictures are of two different birds. The third picture is the same two birds, together. Both birds are skyblue Type 2 yellowfaces. How do I know they are yellowface skyblues, and not light greens? By the intensity of the color. Yellowface makes a softer green tint than a truly green bird has. "

picture 1: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1958/seafoam1.jpg

picture 2: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1958/mint2.jpg

picture 3: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1958/mint4.jpg

YAY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! So Emmas a yellow faced type II skyblue cinnamon opaline! Meaning when bred to my cobalt spangle ill get yellow face spangles, yellow face normals, blue normals, and blue spangles! :):D:wub::):D

Kirby

I'm glad your excited Kirby but please remember about double posting is to be used for important info.

I like Emma but I was going to suggest something like Peppermint :)

I'm glad Chico is getting better this time  Can I ask how did you seperate the cage?

WHOA!!! WHAT THE HECK?!?!?

When i posted the new news, and link to the colours, it was 3 indiviual link, done at 3 different time, i dont know what happened, sorry Nerwen and gang :D

HAHA Yes i actually thought of that :D I also like Mango, Tessa, Stella, Yolkie, Crystal, and Flower (as in flourescent) (Laughing out loud). But her cute chubby cheecks suit Emma SOOO well you have no idea! In the pics you cant see her chubbyness, and petitness that i see in real life. Emma fit like a glove :P (Laughing out loud)

Thanks about Chico, (Laughing out loud). Im SUPER DUPER HUPER GUPER TUPER NUPER glad to :P (Laughing out loud). All i did was since i have the cage that has 2 doors (i think you have the same) was i pulled up the metal grate that was at the bottom, and wedge it on the frame for the top door, then it sat VERY tight against all the side. It would NEVER fall, and i always have a hard time taking it off, i need to use a hammer to bump it inorder to take it un-wedge it. IT works like a dream, but the only thing is the top door wont open all the way, only like 30% instead of 100%... but i can live with that :) You should try it out Nerwen! Would work like a dream if you have 2 pairs for breeding...

Kirby :D

:(Laughing out loud): I fixed all you posts into one Kirby.

Thanks for the info and yes I have the same cage. I was trying to work the picture out becuase of the handle in the front of the grill thing, i guess that's why the door will not open fully.

  • Author

(Laughing out loud) :P Hmmmmmm... maybe i had another dumb moment :P (Laughing out loud)

Well the handle gets wedged between the door panel, and the frame that secures the door to the cage... Know what i mean? Then the reason the door wont open fully is becuase as the door goes to swing open, then 'divider' doesnt allow enough room for it to turn all the way. However i 'force' (you dont force, you just put a bit more push or pull to it) the door open, and it will go all the way back :) Newen, is the cage empty now? What a waste of such a good cage! Get a cockatiel for it! Or shall i saw a weiro mate! :D (Laughing out loud)

Kirby :D
