Posted August 9, 200619 yr Hi there: This is my first time time experiencing bird problems. OUt of nowhere and I mean from one day to the next My budgie did a 180. It normally flies about and lands on you and bite at you if you have a pen in your hand but yesterday it just stopped doing and it look like its sleepy. it perches on its perch puffed out and somtimes rests one leg on the mirror or cage.. Honestly when you put the food in the cage itwill no longer immediately move out of your way it'll try to bite first and then move out of theway. and its droppings are yellowish! first we thought becauseit took a nip of carrot from the table or toast but i'm not sure. I have booked an appointment with the vet but does anyone have any ideas? I am really worried! the budgie is your typical green and yellow male!!
August 9, 200619 yr yellowish dropping is not normal, and I'm glad you have a vet appointment already before asking here. Keep your bird warm, the best way to do that is using a bed lamp or desk lamp as close to the cage as possible. If you can do that use a heavy sheet or light blanket and cover the cage. Keep noise level around him down until the vet trip. Carrot is good for them so it would not be the cuase of this. I wish you luck and I hope to find out what the vet said.
