Curious About A Budgie I Saw

Featured Replies

Posted

I saw a budgie today that at first glance was an albino- white/ red eyes, looking harder I realised it was very slightly tinged blue towards the rear (kinda like the one in budgie pictures-willsbrook/my white budgie) with very faint bars on its head- although they were that faint I may have been imagining it, or it could have been brown dirt!

Just wanting your thought on this slightly blue tinged albino budgie-female w/brown cere- its had me thinking today!!

sorry can't get a photo it was in a shop

albinos can have a hue of blue tinge since they are blue based it is common.

:)

I have an albino girl, Selene, and depending on the light conditions, I can sometimes see her blue tinge.

In reality, Albinism is hiding the real budgie colour, but sometimes not completely, and in those cases, a blue tinge comes up, or a green one in a Lutino.

In Selene’s case, albinism is hiding a yellow face blue.

When I take pics of her without the use of a flash, she looks normal white. But if I use the flash, then the tinge comes up easily.

Is this what you saw? :P

That makes sense. Yeah tinge showing through just on rump- but kinda like the photos

Cheers guys!

the rump area is where you see the most of the tinge in real life.

Hi Zebra,

I wouldn’t mind having the first budgie with pink wings!! Can you imagine the success that would be?!
