just wondering is a quiet budgie a happy budgie? my budgie hardly says 5 cheeps in a day, in the morning when the sun is coming through the window i am woken by the wild birds and the budgies in my street and Sparkie never says a word, occassionally he will chirp back but often just sits in silence listening, when he is in a room on his own i always leave the radio on low for him, he is a new baby budgie so could it be that he is just settleing in or have i just found a quiet one?

It took our Bluey quite a while to settle in and then he started with calling out to every wild bird within earshot!

 

Considering you suspect your baby is/was ill, you might be in for a treat in a couple of days in terms of vocalisation or you should seriously consider visiting a vet as suggested in other posts.

Pretty was the same way I was very worried but he started to come out of his shell around the 6 month period - I know that seems long but some are just quiet and Pretty was one of them
