Posted July 22, 200618 yr I've taken quite a few photos of my gang over the last couple of days. I thought I'd share some with you all. Enjoy! Romeo and Sylvester found a new perch above my kitchen window. They are exploring the house more and more. A neat picture of Wylie in flight. Tweety the contortionist. Mr. Spikey Head - he thinks he's a 'tiel. Just a cute picture of Sylvester My studly boys Wylie and Sylvester Star ventured OUT of the cage for the very first time on her own. Look how pretty she is. Tweety checking out millet and then going for it! A group shot - almost everyone! And finally - little Max cuddled up in Lucas' collar.

July 22, 200618 yr Gorgeous flock! Wow, they look so beautiful all together! Such STUNNING colours! ! ! Yes i noticed Bella and Reomeo were in the picture (Laughing out loud) Kirby :hap:
July 22, 200618 yr What a beautiful, colourful flock you have! The in-flight picture is especially awesome. They must keep you endlessly entertained with all their antics
July 22, 200618 yr Author Thanks everyone for the kind words about the pics. My budgies do give me endless hours of enjoyment. I love sitting and watching them interact. They aren't what you would call "tame" but I can get all but 4 of them to step up on to a perch to get them in and out of the cage. When out they will sit a few inches away from me on their play tree. We can still hold Max but I'm sure once his flights are in he will be more like the others. I'm a picture fanatic so there will be lots more coming
July 22, 200618 yr Ohhhh man!!!!!!!!!!! More pics :( PS-JOKING!!!!!!!!!! :) I could look at your pics for ever! You know it! (Laughing out loud)... How old are Tweety and Sylvester now? Close to breeding age (Laughing out loud)... And i bet Star, Beka, Daffy, and Puddin' are approaching! (Laughing out loud).. Kirby
July 23, 200618 yr Author Ohhhh man!!!!!!!!!!! Kirby Well Tweety and Sylvester are probably 7-8 months old. I'm guessing Daffy and Puddin must be 10-12 months - maybe older. And Star and Beka are probably the same. I think that Bella must be a good 7-8 months old if not more. I'll probably only breed her and if so it will be this winter. Mate will likely be Wylie. I'll see how that goes before I decide to breed anymore. I will find it hard to give away the babies and with 12 indoors already, I wouldn't dare breed anymore. I really hope that with Bella and Wylie I'll get at least one yellowface spangle I'll watch closely for your breeding news too!!!!
July 23, 200618 yr (Laughing out loud) yay thanks Shawna!!! Im excited about your possibly yf blue spangle PIEDS even possibly What will you breed them in do you think? The black one? That would work greatttt!!!!! (Laughing out loud) I want to see babies from your guys sooo badly! Must be adorable! And, to make Wylie pair up with Bella, you should pet them together in a seperate cage. They will bond in no time, and it will be eaiser to breed birds who are in love, then birds who are just together with next box Thats what i did with my Kirby and Belle. Were both 'single' and i put them together in cage not trying to pair them up, and now 4 months later, in big cage, they still feed, mate daily, and are madly in love! You should try it out (Laughing out loud)... Kirby
July 23, 200618 yr Author I don't dare put them together yet. With my luck they'd be a "breed without a nestbox" couple and they are just too young. I will take your suggestion and put them together a few months before I want to introduce the nestbox to let them bond!!!! I will use the black cage. It should be perfect. Right now its on loan to my mom. It's cool that you are so anxious about breeding and breeding results. It is awesome to read about the others breeding on the forum - especially Bubbles - and it makes me anxious to get started. But I'm going to wait and live vicariously through the others for now.
July 24, 200618 yr (Laughing out loud) I love you Shawna! I totally agree with everything you said, and yu agree with most stuff i said! (Laughing out loud)... :ausb: I truely feel that would work GREAT to put them together for at least a month before... so they get use to eachother, and work out battles so they bond together, and want babies when the nest is introduced :ausb: (Laughing out loud). Yes, im VERYYYYYYYYY ANXIOUS to start breeding, and LOVE when other people breed their biurds, becuase i love seeing them grow up, and sharing the wonderful epxerience with them. Its amazing how the grow so fast, and i love the lil babies! My ABSOLUTE favourite age is when they are 24-26 days old If you notce, around that age, they are all almost grown in, but still look like tini tiny babies that you watched grow the past 25 days in a nest. Keep me/us posted on breeding progress in future, and best of luck. Im going to be setting up my one pair around mid-late August, then my other around same time IF* im allowed to get another breeder cage for only $25 Kirby
July 24, 200618 yr They are great pics Shawna, you have such beautiful birds! Can't wait to see the offspring of Wylie & Bella!! :ausb:
