Flash continues to do well...I think. Last night we "talked" a bit...a few chirrups back and forth between us. He hung out in the cage with the door open...he would occasionally jump down and out...run around the room...check things out, then jump back up on his perch in the cage.

I kept asking "Whats up" and (okay, probably my imagination) but he answered in the same tone and measure...he didnt says "whats up", but he sort of copied the tone and beat. cool game, he is training me to be a complete fool :)

I did noticed he was "fluffed" last night more than not. He seemed pretty active...was preening and eating well...poop looks okay. Noticed his vent was a bit dirty...umm, and he cleaned it up this morning. It was not loose, was just sort of "stuck" to his behind.

Oh, and I read about checking a birds "crop"...how does one look at/examine it?

Thanks in advance!

oops, let me try again with pictures...quality not to good, I took them with my phone...

Awww he's really cute :) I guess that all sounds pretty normal. I can't help you with checking the crop though, I don't have a clue!

checking crops is when they are little little the crop

he is sounds okay, is was probably settling in for bed. :) so cute

checking the crop is for babies, to make sure they are being feed.

He sounds fine and doing great if he can put himself to bed already, it might help later if each time he climbs back into the cage, you say something like "bed time", or "in to bed" Not 100% if it will work but later he might do that when you need to get him back away.

If your wanting him to talk keep repeating a simply word or statment, like What's up and he could learn to talk. It all depends on who had you work at it.

:) Flash is doing well and don't worry about the crop, I check crops of BABY birds at the wildlife shelter.

Unless Flash is sick which he/she isn't and in which case a vet should be doing it, take it off of your list of things to watch for. Again, what a pretty little bird. :(

Oh what a little cutie! The poops could just be from the change of environment and diet, don't worry unless it continues over say a week.

He is very pretty :D . I think he'll be okay, looks happy on the pictures :(

Thanks everyone...okay, guess I am being a bit too worried.

I guess I am a bit nervous I could lose him too by missing some kind of really important birdy necessity.

On a happier note, Flash let me give him a shower last night. He even seemed to enjoy the water spray. I offered to let him down a few times from the "shower perch"...but he refused each offering at the cage door and stuck his little face in the water. The shower temp was about room temperature..maybe a wee bit warmer.
