Curry and Laila's 6 babies all have yellow feathers so far it seems....one is a red eyed albino (lutino?)

Curry seems to be a texas clearbody with an ino gene. Sasha also is a texas clearbody. Pity you can't get the birds you want in Kalgoorlie. If you are ever heading for Perth, PM me and I will find you some good birds. I forget one or two names on occasion, but get there in the end. It pays to have them all looking a little different to the next budgie and having their own personality helps too with remembering names.

Yeah we do come to Perth quite frequently that'd be great if you could get me onto a couple of decent ones its hard to find them even in Perth if you don't know the right people!! Honey and Kiwi have four newish babies. Here is Honey and

Pretty and Moose have two new babies and 6 eggs. This is Pretty Moose is a Grey normal boy (good father).

All other babies in the nests are fine and I will do photos on the weekend. Some of the babies are feathering up into very pretty budgies

Two new babies from Cindy and Sam............Cindy Cindy was very fussy about picking a mate but Sam came along and changed everything :ausb:

We lost Cameo today in a flight accident....due to a broken neck. :rip: The new aviary modifications can't come quick enough for me now to stop fast flight accidents.. It is very sad as she was just a few weeks out of the nest.

Other news is the first of Kaya and Sonny's babies fledged today (maybe by accident)....a YF2 spangle baby. I noticed it missing from the nest but not to be found anywhere at all. Ken and I searched high and low. I felt sure it would be hidden somewhere and searched behind the nesting box in amongst the bracken/ thatching. Found it hiding there, and popped it back in the nest with its siblings. Just another day in the aviary. :ausb:

I am awaiting to see those babies can you get a spangle cinnamon mutation? I haven't heard of one yet. Here I think the males will just be split unless dad is carrying the gene to produce females. Hmmm....I wonder.

Yes, Lovey. We do have cinnamon spangles from this pairing :grbud: A nice surprise.

Ciaras babies have been fostered out to other nests. She gives up on them after awhile just like she did the first time. So she won't be breeding again. Makes beautiful babies but not a good mother partway through. Five babies have been separated and been put with Kaya, Swift and Spice. Goliath and Jade have two new babies and 3 eggs. Goliath

Crystal is a very pretty girl

So sorry to hear about pretty Cameo and her accident, Crystal is just turning into the most beautiful budgie.

She is a stunner that Crystal. I may not be on for a day or so. Ken's mother has just passed away in an apparent suicide and he is very distraught. He is beating himself up emotioanlly over what he feels he should have done or not done so it hadn't happened but his mother has been chronic depressive for years and suicidal on many an occasion. Like the boy who cried wolf....eventually noone listens to the threats.

Thanks Lin....I will tell him. He will eventually see he couldnt have done anything, but his last conversation with her wasnt a good one (she was drunk).

OH NO KAZZ!!!!! :sad: :sad: Poor Ken! :hap: OMG, thats terrible! Please give him lots of love from all of us, and tell him that his family are in our prayers, and he couldnt have done anything. Everything happens for a reason, and maybe this was the one that she wanted to end her life, and God knew it was the roght timing. Such as shame, he turned out so well, thats such a sad thing to happen to such a good person Sorry Ken, and hopefully he will realize soon he couldnt have changed anything, and carries on life knowing his mother for thet good things, not the bad

Ken has hit depression re his mother. She made a phonecall to him the night before she died and said she had taken pills. She had made hundreds of similar phonecalls over the years that were false....just a bid for attention. She had been institutionalised many times for mental and alcohol problems. This time she had taken the pills. Ken just thought she was drunk (which she was ) and told her to go to bed. He feels much guilt over not listening THIS time and also for not going over to check on her. I am trying to make Ken see that should he have gone, he wouldnt have known anyway they she had taken the pills. He would have just put her back to bed and seen her in the morning. His father was there and he didnt know either.
