July 21, 200618 yr Author oh now I am so sorry Karen , poor little Bao. Thankyou Elly. I am feeling very down in the dumps over Bao A great many "what ifs" going through my head...what if I'd done this or that. What if I didnt go out to work and checked her sooner. What if .....
July 21, 200618 yr Karen, it was as always fun being in that aviary or yours, and not only that, I got to hold I think about 20 little pink blobs!! and on top of THAT, you transformed my hubby's opinion about those ugly but cute pink blobs!! (Laughing out loud).. I just can't wait to see how some of your babies feather out! espcially Kaya's eldest..
July 22, 200618 yr Author Interesting news..........Amara and Merlin, who has decided to hatch eggs behind the brushwood fencing attached to the side wall of the aviary has babies. Amidst the noise of aviary birds this morning I heard baby cheeps....followed the sound down to ground level and behind the brushwood fencing I could hear baby budgies calling to be fed by Mum who was in there....at least 3 or 4...too hard to tell. I cannot see or get at them and must wait for the surprise when they eventually come out. We also have a couple of newborn in the aviary. Edited July 22, 200618 yr by Bubbles

July 23, 200618 yr Author Have just done a head count in the aviaries and we have 39 babies.....plus eggs
July 23, 200618 yr Author New photos of Kaya and Sonny's babies.........Baby one ( looks like a cinnamon spangle opaline light green ) female I think Next baby next baby last baby ( looks a little like baby no 1 but not opaline ) **also Misty and Chucky who had three babies have only two now as the eldest died in a nest box accident. Second eldest is a YF cobalt baby. Youngest, possibly a dilute baby looking just like Mum . Two other babies....from the box of Lucifer and Shiloh One baby adopted from Butter and Chucky and one of their own.. Shiloh Lucifer Baby one Baby two Edited July 23, 200618 yr by Bubbles
July 23, 200618 yr cutie pies!!! I'm going to say that Kaya's eldest isn't an Opaline. There's no green on her wings, too yellow. the last baby picture is looking like a spangle as well, not opaline
July 23, 200618 yr I agree Cheeta Also the one you call the last baby in that row of pictures looks like the second, judging by the length of tail feathers that have grown in.

Yellow head, yellow wings with apparently cinnamon spangle wing markings and pale green body ? I agree Cheeta Also the one you call the last baby in that row of pictures looks like the second, judging by the length of tail feathers that have grown in. July 23, 200618 yr Author aww look at little Scooter I thought you had the pictures out of order, but you had stated beside them which was which. Scooter is doing very well for a baby that was very severely leg splayed in the nest. Not only is her? legs right now, but when she hurt her wing....she went to ground for about a fortnight and now is flying well again. Pretty too
