I didn't think two spangles produce only spangle babies. :) I got it confused with double spangles pair. :D

well Karen, I think we might have problem deciding which chick belongs to which parents. :(

:):D :hap: Oh, well. They were too tiny to legring and I hated putting anything slightly toxic on their skin to mark them. :(

I am leaning towards the possibility of it being Macey and Prince's as it is a larger baby than Kaya or Sonny have produced before.

I think Macey is a grey dilute spangle, but someone will correct me if I am wrong :(

:) It has just occurred to me that Goliath was often seen sitting on the perch to Macey's nesting box, having chased away Prince. Is it possible Goliath has fathered this baby ?? :(

50% SF spangle

25% double factor spangle

25% normal

I believe is the ratio

I agree

You will have to tell me again all the parents involved and the baby in question (I don't remember)

What about putting a split legring on them so you know who they belong to?

No legring would have worked as when they were fostered they were far too small for any kind of legring. I suppose I could have used a finch one or something but at the time it was essential to get them some good mothering quite fast. :(

We have solved the mystery of which babies are Kaya and Sonny's and which are Macey and Prince's. Kaya ended up with some extra babies when Macey abandoned her nest. As Maceys 3 babies were too small for legrings and needing fast feeding I put them in with Kaya and Sonny's 6. Kaya and Sonny have produced 2 cinnamon cobalts, 1 YF2 spangle, 1 cinnamon spangle light green, and 2 like this (I don't know what it is...pale lemon with pale green tummy and pale cinnamon spangle markings on the wings).

Some of Kayas are in other nesting boxes being raised by other parents.

Here is the six of them

I bought 4 new budgies today. Two yellow lacewings for sure....sex to be determined :D

1 budgie that is white with ALL lacewing cinnamon markings BUT has normal eyes with iris rings ;)

dunno what that one is .....

Another large club budgie (hen) she is cinnamon but is pale blue and white with yellow tail....very unusual, looks dominant pied but cinnamon. Is there such a thing ? Obviously being cinnamon her dominant pied type markings are diluted.

Photos to follow tomorrow.

I am handfeeding 4 budgie babies that parents are neglecting in their endeavours to get amorous with each other again. Hoping for a good result, but time will tell. :)

I can't see why there wouldn't be a mutation such as a Dominant Pied Cinnamon since it is two different mutations and linked different ways.

I can't wait to see pictures.

We can have fun naming them unless they are named already ;).

The babies are wonderful!!! The last one looks like a bald man from the back :D.

Congrats on your new birds!

We have new babies !! Not the usual budgie babies but CANARY babies. A pair of canaries we have taken over a nest in a shrub and had four eggs. We think 3 are good. Looked today and there were two mouths reaching out to be fed....fluffy little things. So cute :D

Photo probably doesn't show much (notice budgie feathers lining the nest. xxx045x.jpg

Puppies ....we have four at home now. The little one with brownish face we called Shelley has gone to her new home in the same suburb and she is now called Trinity. Another girl has gone to my best friend and that pup is called Maddie. Flash goes on Monday to live with a family that is just so excited about it and is travelling 300 miles to collect him. We have Oscar and Charlie left with no new owners as yet. We are keeping Maggie and she seems to know it already and answers to her name. :P

We have a new baby from Harley and Rose. A second which was due to hatch, tried to hatch through the night but only got the lid off the eggshell and stayed there and died. So I guess another due to hatch Monday

Nerwen....any thoughts on the baby of Macey and Prince which is starting out with lavender blue and grey on its wings ?
