Cool I would love to name him/her

I think clearflight is when their flights are white and so is their tail, Nerwen can confirm.

The clearflight I was talking about the dad with the baby you wanted Nerwen to figure out not your new English.

I think she is a grey opaline spangle possible dilute?

S'okay Elly. I knew you meant the Dad but I didnt know the answer to that one. I think Macey is dilute too, but not entirely sure of her exact description. I would be happy to have babies from her, as she rejected so many different boys I offered her and ended up picking her own. I will check the violet baby and see if I can work out boy or girl. ;)

Well I have alot of catching up to do :(Laughing out loud): in just a short period.

Ken I hope you feel better soon take care of that back it is the only one you have :).

The stain glass is absolutely amazing Karen - what a wonderful gift to have. Have your daughters inherited your skills? I would love to be able to draw that well. Yes...both daughters are very artistic

The babies are super duper cute I love Goliath's babies they are going to be gorgeous but then all your budgies are.

And the puppies look at those full bellies. They are probably so sweet to hold..I just love grunty noises they make and their puppy breath ;). And they are opening their eyes, time is flying before you know it they will be out of the house and into someone's heart too.

Wish I lived closer so I could come visit and help you both out.

Puppies are doing great. They are walking, and can eat out of a saucer ( although they get very messy ) ....I will take some video of that tomorrow. Ken wishes he could keep them all.

Ken actually had a fall in front of a car. He accidentally let Cricket out with him out front of the house...and she ended up on the road with cars all around. He ran after her and fell in front of a car as he tried to get her off the road. Ken has been scolded till he had "ear burn" over letting Cricket out the front of the house and then not watching her. He hurt his shoulder, back, elbow and knees.

Thats right pick on the poor blokes hey Ken:) (Laughing out loud) What about poor old kens injuries.

oh karen i'm glad everything is working out with cricket

if i was still in perth i would love one of the little boy's they are so cute

I like Chloe out of those :wine

Lovey... spangles cannot be clearflighted *i dont think* Hes just a normal spangle... all spangles have clear flights...and whatever series coloured tails (ie if the birds a green series his wings and tail will be yellow, and a blue series wings and tail will be white)...

Kirby :(

hmmm you know I am not sure

Because in this picture of a Spangle http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_colors.html#spangle not the first 2 scroll past the normal the violet one does have patterning on the flights (maybe because it is also an opaline? but I thought that just put the coloration through the wings too).

Also if you check out Prince (above) he has spangle pattering on his flights. I know the tail thing is right because I remember Nerwen pointing that out to me once.

Looking further if you look at the patterning of the spangling he looks almost like a Dominant Pied Spangle Opaline (if that is possible) :(Laughing out loud):

This type of Dominant Pied http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_co...ml#dominantpied the first picture where they say they have a clearzone across their wings. I can't see the back of the head for the pied spot or a band across the belly.

Either way he is gorgeous and I hope it can be worked out :wine

Hmmm......... NERWEN COME HELP US PLEASE!!!! (Laughing out loud)

Yes dominant pied spangle opaline is possible... I remember seeing some once on another forum :wine Maybe even this one? Not sure (Laughing out loud)

Kirby :(

That violet baby is superb! I love her. I like Yasmin for a name. Lots of good choices Lovey.

Kirby and Lovely: Clearflight spangles is possible, normal spangle do have the faint lines on the flight wings as well. Rose is a Domiant Pied Opaline Spangle ( she has no markings on the flights) and Harley is an Opaline Spangle.

Karen the baby is a bit hard to tell in the pictures, it's possible he is a lightly marked spangle as Lovely said or mabye s/he is a pied spangle. S/he isn't a DF spangle becuase of the blue cheek patches.

Macie looks Opaline in that picture, but I know she is a cinnamon, I don't think any dilute is in play, the cinnamon gene lightens all the colour on hte bird don't forget. With Prince you could get:

DF Spangles and SF spangles in either grey, cobalt or mauves, depending on how many Dark Factors Macie has ( I think she might have one but it's hard to tell becuase of the cinnamon gene) If Prince is the one with the violet gene then violets are possible as well. All the boys will be split for Cinnamon. Oh and I just remembered the voilet baby is opaline as well that had to have come from Dad so you could get Opline Spangles from them as well. (all girls)

Now did that help??

I want little Flash Karen :wine How could anyone pass him up. I love the name too.

Yes so I ended getting it right cool and she is a gorgeous mutation.

I will check Harley and Rose's baby again over the next couple of days....there is skyblue on its chest area, coming in stronger now. Maybe is a pied spangle....I will give you more to go on over the weekend.

Macey does look opaline to me too. :(

Flash is a darling. Everyone wants to hold him. We are torn and would love to keep him too, but cannot.

OMG she is so cute everytime I look at her what a gorgeous coloring I mean she really looks lavender (and they say budgies don't carry red)

She is a real pretty lavender as you say. I have just looked at the baby of Harley and Rose and the wing markings are so, so pale grey that they really dont show anything. Too pale to see. We will wait. :wine

coming off the other post of wanting budgies...good thing I live on the oppoosite side of the world from you Karen or I would be in REALLY big trouble :(Laughing out loud):. She is so dang CUTE! Thank you for using one of the names, I love it!

Just some intermediate photos of the new aviary modifications. More to do....toys and fun things to add. Cleanups to do, floor surfaces to finish off. budgies are currently in stage one awaiting the stage 2 completion (hopefully completion of stage 2 by Saturday night ) :D

First shot is of back left corner of stage 2 aviary september143.jpg

back wall september144.jpg

Lefthand side september146.jpg

The ceiling section of this stage 2 aviary is raised up to an apex with a large log perch up in that roof space...gives a feeling of more space. I am trying to mainly have real tree branches and rope perches in there. Since photos I have added a birdbath, a log / tree trunk with perches attached and of course have more to do. More toys to buy and make too. Stage one is approx 1 metre by 3 metres. Stage two is approx 3 metres wide by 3-4 metres deep. Stage 3 will be a bit bigger than stage 2 and stage 4 bigger again.

Next photo shows the entry doors to stage one and two ( these doors are actually aluminium window security screens )

september153.jpg

The next photo shows stage one and stage two together as it appears going around a corner at right angles

september155.jpg

This photo shows the back area that will be stage 3 of the aviary modifications....to be the pairing up area for "budgie couples" ....please excuse the mess. We were mid construction when this photo was taken.

september156.jpg The next photo shows back towards the door where the anteroom is.

september157.jpg The anteroom has four doors...one from the "birdie room" where you enter. One door to the left which will be the new aviaries, one door through to the back where there is storage up to the fenceline, and the other door to the right which has been my original budgie aviary. The birdie room where you come through has cupboards for storage and 10 breeder cage set ups in there.

This photo is what you would see, standing in the stage 2 aviary looking back into stage one. september150.jpg

This is the apex roof area of stage 2 ( older photo with some java finches in there....they have been moved )

Please bring, shovels, boots, cordless drill, rake, hammer and nails, and elbow grease... and you can have any budgie you want as payment !! :D

:(Laughing out loud): do you think I will get through customs with the elbow grease :(Laughing out loud): I mean I am not concerned about the drill or nails or rakes those are just sharp pointy items. Of course I will need the BUDGIE SMUGGLER too to arrive :D

STAGE TWO IS DONE !!! :budgiedance: :bluebudgie: :oliveb:

I am feeding puppies first then going down there to release some birds into their new home. Photos to follow.

Wow Karen - what a fantastic job you are doing - the renovations are looking great and you have some very happy looking birds in there already!!

Where are all the birds in the meantime - are they ALL in section one??

YAY for the puppies sleeping thru the night! You have been a wonderful grandma!! :bluebudgie:

:budgiedance:

great work Karen :budgiedance: and the place is looking wonderful.

great work Karen :D and the place is looking wonderful.

Thanks :D Ken is up on the roof taking down some shade cloth and putting some clear roofing sheets up so the back area is weatherproof. Budgies are waiting :budgiedance: We have three levels in that aviary and we have put white sand up the top level and woodchipped the rest. All single budgies are about to go in there for now, except young ones who will stay in the stage one area for awhile. It's very exciting :D I will go buy and make budgie toys later.

Yes....budgies mostly are in the stage one area for holding till I can release them into area two. There are about 13 breeder cages with pairs of birds in. Also a quarantine cage with birds and another bank of 3 breeder cages. We have baby budgies in the patio cage...when babies are doing well they will go into the juvenile area. I also have sold a few budgies as pets over the past month. Sold some excess males as well. Will take more photos over the next couple of days. :ausb:

:bluebudgie: WOO HOO !!!! :oliveb: I have just been given the go ahead to go and release some budgies into their new home !! Back later. :grbud:
