August 29, 200618 yr Author Good to hear things are coming together. You will look back and say my goodness how did we do this but you did and I knew you could. Thankyou Elly. You are a national treasure and every home should have one just like you
August 29, 200618 yr so glad that Cricket is doing well and that the pups are getting some form of food into them. How are the budgie settling into their new homes? Are they liking the new layouts? I would think you're feeling better about the seperation now. Less worry about babies trying to nest and such.
August 29, 200618 yr Author so glad that Cricket is doing well and that the pups are getting some form of food into them. How are the budgie settling into their new homes? Are they liking the new layouts? I would think you're feeling better about the seperation now. Less worry about babies trying to nest and such. We have only completed stage two so far of a four stage division. We will end up with a juveniles area, a male area, a female area and an area for pairing up and bonding. Budgies, for now, are still in the first section. Things have been busy with dog and pups and I have had lots of work to do. But next step is to set up stage two with all new perches and a bit of landscaping so budgies can be released into there. We cannot use the third and fourth area for awhile as Ken has a canary on eggs in the privit bush (where Frank the frog used to sit ) and two pairs of Java finches are nesting too. So we must wait till babies hatch and fledge if any before using those areas. But if we can get the second area set up by the weekend the budgies can move into their holiday home. There is more space than we thought even with divisions. Plants have been removed also. Ken has another two weeks holiday as he was due to go back to work tomorrow, but injured himself in a fall. We'll get there eventually.
August 29, 200618 yr Hugs to you both. My goodness, you have had some tough times of late. Glad that Cricket is home. Hope Ken isn't seriously hurt from his fall.
August 30, 200618 yr Aww hugs from me too. Sorry but I thought you have section two set up as well already and where seperating them into those two areas for the time being (juveniles and adults)
August 30, 200618 yr Author Aww hugs from me too. Sorry but I thought you have section two set up as well already and where seperating them into those two areas for the time being (juveniles and adults) Would have done stage two by now but all these dog and puppy distractions have made us fall behind schedule. We have done the clearing out of all wood chips and perches and plants of stage two, but just need to set it up and make it fun for the budgies, then they can go in. Few more days maybe less. Will do pho tos over the weekend. Had to take Cricket back to the vets today as she developed an infection due to too much milk and puppies not sucking from her (as they werent allowed).....so she is allowed to feed 3 times a day now and she is on antibiotics.
August 30, 200618 yr Author This is a leadlight window I made over 24 hrs while all the puppy business was going on. Just thought you guys might appreciate a look at some of the prettier things I make. It is genuine leadlight...draw the design freehand first then I cut out all the coloured glass and assemble with lead and solder it to join it up....then puttied and polished for strength and beauty. I do the traditional method....no painting on glass. and here are just some of my babies in the patio aviary ....

August 30, 200618 yr Well I have alot of catching up to do :(Laughing out loud): in just a short period. Ken I hope you feel better soon take care of that back it is the only one you have . The stain glass is absolutely amazing Karen - what a wonderful gift to have. Have your daughters inherited your skills? I would love to be able to draw that well. The babies are super duper cute I love Goliath's babies they are going to be gorgeous but then all your budgies are. And the puppies look at those full bellies. They are probably so sweet to hold..I just love grunty noises they make and their puppy breath :fear. And they are opening their eyes, time is flying before you know it they will be out of the house and into someone's heart too. Wish I lived closer so I could come visit and help you both out.

Yes...both daughters are very artistic The babies are super duper cute I love Goliath's babies they are going to be gorgeous but then all your budgies are. And the puppies look at those full bellies. Puppies are doing great. They are walking, and can eat out of a saucer ( although they get very messy ) ....I will take some video of that tomorrow. Ken wishes he could keep them all. Ken actually had a fall in front of a car. He accidentally let Cricket out with him out front of the house...and she ended up on the road with cars all around. He ran after her and fell in front of a car as he tried to get her off the road. Ken has been scolded till he had "ear burn" over letting Cricket out the front of the house and then not watching her. :fear He hurt his shoulder, back, elbow and knees. August 31, 200618 yr Author wonderful shots again Karen, thanks for taking time out of your puppy feeding, glass work and caring for Ken duties to show us the work so far Have all the puppies got a home yet? All the girl puppies have homes Jenni....one for us, one for my best friend and one for a cavalier breeder. Everyone wants females. The boys are really nice pups but so far noone wants a boy. The boy you liked with the white down his back ( we have called Flash Gordon due to the stripe down his back ) is really lovely....laidback and casual, so I hope someone special gets him. All pups have names (temporary probably)...we have Maggie (ours) and Maddie(my friends) and Shelley (the breeders pick) and we have Flash, Charlie and Oscar. Here is another baby budgie for you to work out Jenni. The baby of Harley and Rose..... Harley and Rose
