August 9, 200618 yr :ausb: Cricket is sweet with her imminent family, hope she and the birds are keeping Ken's mind off the sad events in his life as of late.
August 9, 200618 yr I am going with Nerwen on this one :(Laughing out loud): was it she said possible fallow (just joking) that would be my only guess other then recessive pied but the marking look spangle like Kaya. S/he is recessive pied as well, which was what was bugging me, to get TWO recessive gene showing on the same baby ?? I guess it can happen but what a fluke. Fallow is the only think I know of that can fit all the factors. I have just found out that there is such a thing as a Double Factor Spangle Opaline Light Green Fallow :ausb: and seems to explain my new baby budgie from Swifts nest. That is one of the sites I checked out the other day. Better pictures of what they are saying is what would help heaps. Plus I think one of the pictures they say is a hen but looks male to me. Look at little Cricket I can't wait to see her puppies! Love the second bub from Spot and Precious. S/he is going to be a looker. Is it grey or mauve colouring showing up? YAY for Goliath and Jade Fingers crossed all the bubs are okay. Love the two blue babies of Ciaras too. They look really sweet.
August 9, 200618 yr Author Thanks for the warm thoughts :angel1: I think new puppies will cheer Ken up....Monday or Tuesday. The little lutino baby budgie that wasnt being fed was still unfed so I tried to feed it and it actually took some food this time. I have put it in another mothers nest box to keep it warm and if she doesnt feed it I will again later. Plucky little devil....I expected worse long before this. Another new fledgling out today...another one of kaya's....a YF2 spangle baby boy...flying right from the word go. He is spoken for as someone I know wants a budgie baby for hand taming. They picked this little one straight out of the nest and he leaves in a couple of weeks if he's well and eating fine. I hope to do some more photos tomorrw as I have some terrific baby budgies coming on ....pure delights in all colours of the rainbow.
August 9, 200618 yr Author The plucky little lutino baby ( Casper and Cookie's ) is eating when I hand feed it, so here's hoping. My first time hand feeding. I keep putting it back in Honey and Kiwi's nest with their four babies hoping it will get fed along with the rest. Maybe now it has some more vigor things will start to happen for it. Meanwhile it is being kept warm with adopted siblings. 3 new fledglings......cinnamon light green spangle girl and YF2 Spangle boy of Kaya's and a sky blue opaline spangle boy of Slinky and Bloo are out and about. They are nestled together in a nesting box on the aviary floor tonight. The Sky spangle is terrific...eating seed right from the start. The YF2 Spangle baby is flying right from the nest. The cinnamon green budgie cant fly too well as is missing a couple of flight feathers but is great at climbing walls to get where it wants to be. Three amigos. Oh Yes....a new baby ...their first to PIE and MOLLY ...( ***Kirby ) .........and guess what ? Another ino in the aviaries..... Must be the "water" Look at little Cricket I can't wait to see her puppies! Love the second bub from Spot and Precious. S/he is going to be a looker. Is it grey or mauve colouring showing up? YAY for Goliath and Jade Fingers crossed all the bubs are okay. Love the two blue babies of Ciaras too. They look really sweet. Spot and precious's second bub has the look of palest bluey grey so far. Should know either way by the weekend. All five of Jade and Goliaths babies are being well cared for to date. Ciaras two look a bit like poor little Cameo that died in an accident. Two girls maybe ? Cricket has only 6 days to go. She was 4 days early last time. She gets on my lap and I hold her with hands on her tummy and pups are doing the RUMBA in there I swear Two pups are presold if we have two tricolour females to go....we are being besieged by calls and we havent advertised at all. Too early :ausb:

August 10, 200618 yr Good luck with the pups and labour- if there IS only 4/5 in there your lucky my ***** had 14!!! (She is a bigger dog though!) I had to hand feed some of them 3 times a day to help her out. Is it her first lot? New pups are SO exciting (and messy)

August 10, 200618 yr :(Laughing out loud): don't joke Nerwen you have the ability to take one of those cute, grunty, puppy breath smell, ohhhhh so sweet babies home in 6 weeks But again, make sure you put the baby in bubble wrap so he doesn't get bumped around too much and did I forget throw in a couple of traveling companions (budgies are perfect)
August 10, 200618 yr Well, they all are - but that one just keeps drawing my eye - but it's Nerwen's now. I will bubble wrap her for you, and ensure lots of food, ummm budgies are in the box too
August 10, 200618 yr Cricket looks so tired but what beautiful babies she has! Haven't had a dog for over a year now, refuse to look at the pictures again, I want, I want...............
August 10, 200618 yr Author Puppies are all doing well....pigging out at the "dairy bar". All girls are spoken for. My friend has decided she wants a girl now not a boy. There is one special little girl ( born last ) that has Crickets markings....a little clone of her Mum.....she is so sweet. I will take photos over the next few days of each pup and maybe some video. The owner of the father of the pups (Kathy) is so very excited. Pups Dad, GAVIN, is only a year old. His owner Kathy, went straight out and bought him a new bed and toys to celebrate. She now calls him "STUD" Cricket went into labour through the night, a puppy started to come around 7am this morning but just the "bag" he was in came out and burst then no pup. Cricket was not trying to push him out at all. I phoned the vet to assess the situation. They said leave it 30 mins and if nothing happened within the hour to come down with Cricket and she may need a needle to induce labour. They thought this pup was maybe stillborn Nothing happened within the hour so I packed her up and went to the vets. Was holding her wrapped in a sheet at the counter of the vets, when Cricket started to cry out. I thought I was maybe holding her too tight and said I would sit down with her and wait. We had no sooner sat down than a puppy spilled out onto the floor. It was moving....the supposed stillborn puppy....so that was good. The vet checked her over and the puppy who was found to be well and strong. Vet pronounced that we had three puppies in all maybe...no more and said to go home with Cricket and wait for the rest to arrive. Two hours later puppy number two and every 20 mins after that another pup. When we got to four we thought that was it...then another....then another. Big surprise to get 6 pups. Cricket wasnt all that big to look at. But they are all healthy and strong. I phoned the vet to tell them we ended up with 6 and they were aghast! Said, no way did they believe she had 6 pups ! What a day !! It was a bright spot in a bad week, so Ken is a bit happier today over the pups. Funeral for his mother tomorrow.
August 10, 200618 yr Tell Ken we will keep him in our prayers. What a night - glad everyone is well..
