July 11, 200618 yr Naughty Amara, Find her quick. She is a stunning one Zeus ( or Zeuss) which spelling is it?? is regal, he thought my hand was his throne and he had every right to sleep there. Not that I was going to chase him off in a hurry :(Laughing out loud):
July 11, 200618 yr Author Amara is definitely missing .....Ken accidentally had the outer birdie room door open when he took some sand through to my big aviary.....I noticed he had all three doors open and pointed it out at the time with the door quickly shut, but he swore he didnt let any birds out. Now he thinks he must have let Amara out by accident.........bugger !! She was the first violet opaline I bred. At this rate he owes me more budgies : I have just weighed Buddha and he weighs 55 grams. Bao by comparison weighs 30 grams. It has also come to my attention that Tiki has been a very busy boy.....I know he has fathered four babies in Kaya's nest, and he has kept it in the family and fathered her sister Izzy's babies too (Izzy has one hatched)...Prior to this he was also bonking their mother Kermit........now I realise he has also fathered Ciara's babies....she has two hatched. Two other females have decided having babies is a good idea (too young) so they have been removed to the "jail cage" too. Tiki is going to be a very busy boy Tiki is a YF2 Spangle of small build. July 11, 200618 yr Author they are gorgeous KarenCrystal is really feathering out great. Crystal is a really good flyer too
July 11, 200618 yr you know it is God's work no one could trace those spangle wings well marked or poorly marked (Laughing out loud) they are simply gorgeous feature on the spangle mutation.
July 11, 200618 yr *waves and blows kisses to little Bao* Look at that gorgeous bird! Your camera takes very accurate colours Karen! It's just like being there (without the poop!) :fear
July 12, 200618 yr Author Bao still scuttling about...not a flyer yet. Does not want to be a people bird though....she has far too many things to do in the aviary. She keeps Buddha company on the ground.....two not flying much if at all. All the others are now seasoned flyers and doing very well. :fear
July 12, 200618 yr not surprised that Buddha is not flying because of his weight, who else had a big budgie recently and still hadn't flown, I am wondering if Bao is not flying because of him. She feels safe by him and so she copies what he is doing vs flying with the group. I know with Merlin since he is clipped when he falls to the ground Pretty will at times join him.

Buddha gets lift at times. I pick him up and let him fly from my hands to ground for practice. But he cant get lift on his own yet. You are right....Bao and he keep each other company as buddies. Maybe future husband and wife team. I think the other way around tho.....Buddha feels safe with Bao. She is courageous and daring ....Buddha is quieter. Paul29 also had a big budgie not flying. July 12, 200618 yr Author *******AMAZING NEWS !!********** Amara has turned up. The bird that we thought had escaped. She was seen tonight at feeding time on the floor of the aviary being budgie bonked by her partner. I watched her and she went to the brushwood fencing attached to the inside wall of the aviary and shot over the top and down between the wall and the brush fencing. She has eggs and / or babies down there. Cannot get to her .....would have to dig her out and risk any eggs and or babies......so we shall have to wait and see. I am so pleased we havent lost her. By the way, she isnt the first one to think having babies in a strange place is a good idea......3rd time in this aviary. I am so happy we still have AMARA :budgiedance: :budgiedance: :budgiedance: This is Amara as a little one and her partner Merlin also taken when a little budgie Edited July 12, 200618 yr by Bubbles
July 12, 200618 yr Author Great news, she's an absolute cutie :budgiedance: Litle villain has been gone for days behind that brush fencing. She was there all the time we were in the aviary that day (laughing at us, I'll bet :budgiedance:: )...........

July 13, 200618 yr Author It was a freezing cold night last night and we have newborns in the aviary. I have just checked and all are warm. One new Mum hadnt noticed she had a new baby hatched yesterday and it had wiggled away from her....I put it back to her to get warm and it is still okay and has been fed. She has another baby too...I am watching this mum as she "doesn't quite get it" ...what her role is in looking after her babies. Good thing I have other Mums for fostering if need be. I wish I knew what was going on behind the brush fence where Amara is :rip:
July 13, 200618 yr OH my I was thinking all this time of another one. Then who is the pale violet oplaine you have? she has no black on her wings at all.
