July 8, 200618 yr Dominant pied green.... Possibly Double factor.....But ive recently been getting confused on Double factor or not from another foum Hes a Dominant pied for sure of some sort though.... and GORGEOUS! How old is he, and whered ya get him? I like the name too Kirb

July 8, 200618 yr Author Thanks for that. I was thinking pied. Squidgee is about 3 months old and was a handraised baby I bought from my local bird dealer. Very confident little soul. I also have 3 indian ringnecks that he keeps wanting to play with. Not a smart move.

July 8, 200618 yr Author Aaaw. Thank you to everyone for their kind coments. I have to admit that Squidgee is one the most unusual budgies I've owned. Personality plus. He lets you know if he's out of seed by running up and attacking until you sort it out. Little sod I make handcrafted toys and he's the budgie tester, only problem is that he'll play with anything (including fluff) so don't know whether to take his opinion seriously. (Laughing out loud). Thanks again for your lovely comments.
July 8, 200618 yr I have a budgie that I hand raised myself and he is very similar in colour to yours!! My bird certainly rules the roost in my house - he is almost human. He is only 4 months but carries on like he's been around longer than us!! He loves to get out of his cage and fly around the house. (He's had a few close calls by perching himself up on the bathroom door without letting us know he's there and nearly been squished!!)
July 11, 200618 yr I think Kirby might be right, it looks like there is a small line of colour around his neck and the patches of black on his wings are in clumps rather tha a random dot here or there, which are both signs of a Double Factor dominant Pied ( also called Australian pied or banded pied) They are hard to tell from Recessive pieds (also called Harlequin) The best way to tell is when they are older and the eyes get an iris ring, recessive pied do not get this white ring. Also in male if he is a dominant pied it should change from pink to bright blue. Hope this helps, if you give us some more pictures, of his front and back we might be able to pick up other clues.
