Hi all, newby to the forum and budgie land. I currently have a pair of Californian finches which are very cute and now spend about an hour flying around the lounge room in the morn and then wonder back to their home at their leisure.

However I am looking for a hand raised baby boy budgie for more hands on interaction - he will live in my bedroom so not to upset the finches ) and if training goes well will spend the rest of his time sitting on my shoulder nibbling my ears and entertaining me while I study ;o).

The browsing of this site has lead me to desire a yellow latino lacewing or a sky blue spangle - still awefully confused with all the mutation variations. My location is Nth Ryde Sydney so if anyone is close by or within a couple hours drive please let me know. All I have been able to think about the last two weeks is budgies )

Hi and welcome to the forums. This is a good place to be to find out loads about budgie keeping and things.

Good luck finding a spangle, (Laughing out loud). I think a lot of people on here will agree that when you really really want a spangle, there's guaranteed to be none available. Lutino's may be a little easier to find, but I'm not sure about the lacewing part.

If I were you, I'd reserve judgement about what colour you want. If you want a lovely hand-tame boy, then you'd probably be best to go to a breeder and look for budgies for their personalities. You never know, you might find a little normal green that just takes a shine to you and you'll love to bits. They're all beautiful, so whatever you end up with, enjoy him! I'm sure you will.
