Posted June 28, 200618 yr On Friday I am going to Sundance with my brother to get a bigger cage for Woodie and Cloud. What should the proper dimensions be so they can spread their wings and flap around a little bit? Right now, they are kind of crowded but still are able to have their own "spots" for resting and sleeping. I need a bigger cage than what I have now. The dimensions for the current one is 12 by 12. I would like it to be taller and slightly wider. Of course the birds will have the same toys in the same locations, just in a bigger cage. So any suggestions would be appreciated and I will make note of them. Thanks!
June 28, 200618 yr well for a single bird 18 by 18 by 18 is what is normally okay for them, really just get the BIGGEST cage you can afford. I think my cage which I housed two birds in ( and use now as a breeding cage) is 30 cm long.

July 2, 200618 yr Woodie and Cloud finally have a BIGGER and TALLER CAGE! They love it!!! They absolutely love the more space, bigger perches and being able to flex their wings more. They adore feeling much higher up than they were in their starter cage. I saw at Sundance store lots of beautiful, healthy, HAPPY budgies for sale! They had them in a glass aquarium (with no top of course) and they were buzzing around as if they were in the wild--they had albinos, greens, blues and yellows. I told my brother that he did the right thing in having gotten Woodie and Cloud from the store. The birds had plenty of food and water. I was thinking that someone there must be a bird professional or breeder because mine are just plain happy!!! Right now they are both resting on top of their new cage after they flexed their wings and flew around a bit. Doesn't take much to make sure they are content, happy, healthy.
July 5, 200618 yr I'll see if I can get my brother to bring his digital camera and load up the pics of the birds and the cage so I can upload the pics to the website.

(Laughing out loud)
