Posted June 25, 200618 yr Hi All, I hope I've got this picture re-size thing right....please excuse me if it's wrong!? Anyway, I've been dying to show you guys some pics of Trixie, & I think I've finally got some nice ones. I'll start with two though...I don't want to inundate you with our pride & joy! Can anyone give me advice on whether you think Trixie is a boy or girl? I think she's a girl, but often you can look at her cere, & it has a blue tinge to it...like you see in the 2nd picture. What do you think?? Anyway...here s/he is!! Cheers, Tracey She was being very patient with me here....with the camera so close to her! What a good girl/boy?? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g110/Max...F0051Custom.jpg Can anyone else see the blue tinge on her cere??? http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g110/Max...F0059Custom.jpg Gee, I hope this works..... Sorry....I am just trying to work out how to get the pics in the message.....please excuse me while I work this out..... okay....I think I got it....
June 25, 200618 yr Can you tell me how you know for sure? I mean, we named her based on we thought she was a girl, but just every now & again her cere looks blue....why is this? Thanks for your help. Tracey
June 25, 200618 yr Ah, okay....thank you!!! That clears it up..... And what would you say she is....I see you guys talk about recessive/dominant/pied etc......She's just pale yellow with white cheeks....but what would you call her?? After looking up budgietalk.com, it seems like she would be a Lutino. It says that males in this mutation develop a pink cere.....gee, this is all confusing!!! Am I on the right track here....or way off base? It really makes no difference at the end of the day, we love her no matter what & she's just so damn cute!!! Cheers, Tracey
June 25, 200618 yr She's actually a creamino which is a yellowface albino. And yes, if she were male her cere would be really pink.
June 25, 200618 yr Wow.....that's amazing....thank you very much! It amazes me what you guys know - & just by looking at a photo!!! That mutation wasn't on the budgietalk website...(I don't think!?)....sorry - after re-reading the website, I found it. It was the one ABOVE Lutino!! Der! I have never seen one like her before...are there not many around? Does anyone else think she's beautiful? (Laughing out loud)....she feels like my baby....how sad is that? Cheers, Tracey
June 25, 200618 yr Creamino is my favourite mutation so i think she's stunning! I haven't seen any around here so i currently don't have one of my own *sulks*.
June 25, 200618 yr Awww...shucks! Thanks Bea.....I think she's just gorgeous! I have a question about moulting...but I'll try to find the right section to post that into. Thanks again for your help! Tracey
June 25, 200618 yr I agree a pretty little girl If you check out karen's post she breed lutinos you may find some great pics of hers in the budgie picture section.
June 26, 200618 yr Oh a creamino girl! I got one like her!! They are just simply gorgeous!! Except my Yue Liang has now moulted all her baby pastel yellow out and has quite a strong yellow on her now.. Whitish blue cere on female means that they are out of breeding conditions. They go brown when they are good and ready..
June 26, 200618 yr shes so so cute i have creameoneo or however you say it called shadow yes i think a she but it can be hard to tell when they are little
