Posted June 19, 200619 yr This one is my sons, we got him for my son for his birthday, He named him Loverboy. Once he is out of Quarentine, he will become a mate for Passion. He is currently in my son's bedroom. Let me know what you think. He is one heck of a biter, he actually drew blood when I took him out of the box to put him in the cage, I guess it was from being scared. Edited June 19, 200619 yr by CherokeesBudgies
June 19, 200619 yr He looks to be at least a year old (the bars on his head are moulted out) and his cere is very blue with striking iris rings. He is a very handsome dominant pied . Congrats!
June 19, 200619 yr Thank you, I hope with him being older then Passion that he doesn't try any funny stuff (hint hint) with her, becasue I think she is only 8 or 9 months old, when he gets out of quarentine she will be either 9 or 10 months old. But if they do mate the will have some pretty babies, here is a picture of her and him, seperate pictures of course. Passion Loverboy
June 19, 200619 yr she is cute, as long as there is no nesting box you should be fine. He may try it but she will reject until she is ready and you decide to provide them the nesting box. Edited June 19, 200619 yr by lovey
June 19, 200619 yr Very nice. Is he a cinammon. The wing feathers look brown on my monitor. Also looks like he is a clearflight.

June 19, 200619 yr he looks black on my monitor and the clearflight won't it be too soon? Since he is clipped (it looks like) some of his flight feathers are coming back in and when Pretty's came in one side was all white?
June 19, 200619 yr HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH Did you know what i just noticed?!?!? Her name is Passion, and his is Loverboy!!! They both have to do with love since you need passion for love HAHAHAH! They are a gorgeous soon to be pair! Youll get all greens, whether they are normal greens, as wella s dominant green pieds I also noticed they both have same colour bands... Did you get the from the same store? Was it Petsmart or... They could be related if they were from same store... read the bands to check Kirby Edited June 19, 200619 yr by Kirby

They could be related if they were from same store... read the bands to check Kirby Hate to say, but I think there is a 100% chance they may be related. His band says PBPR462 and her band says PBPR7081, which means I assume from the same breeder, so I have a feeling, I will be switching them up with Casper & Jasper. Putting Passion with Jasper & Loverboy with Casper. The letters are the same, but different numbers and I have no idea what the numbers mean, can someone explain them to me if anyone knows?
June 19, 200619 yr Daz probably knows about that stuff... I read a post few weeks ago about what the numbrs on bands mean e.t.c Im not sure...they could be? Hes such a unique looking dominant pied though, and she doesnt even have a dominant pied spot on her neck? Sooo..... I dont think they are, i was just making sure you knew they both had same band on e.t.c What colours would she get anyways if Loverboy (Green dominant pied) bred to Casper (Albino), and Jasper (Blue recessive pied) bred to Passion (Dark green hen).... I think green babies all around, with most or some being dominant green pieds, possibly blue babies, or maybe even white pieds of parent is split to it. Then some babies would be split to certain things such a ino e.t.c Kirby
June 19, 200619 yr I was told in another forum that both Passion & Loverboy are both 2 years old, because the Budgerigar Organization issues certain color bands for each year and gold were used for 2004, so they are both at a good age for breeding, if I only knew if they were related or not. Wish there was a way I could find out.
June 20, 200619 yr Information on leg bands and how to possibly trace the breeder http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww5eiii.htm Kirby, remember if both the greens are split to blue you may get blue babies too if you breed Loverboy and Passion after you find out they are not related. Just because they are the same breeder doesn't mean they are related. Karen has alot of breeding pairs and babies that are not related. So worth investigating. Oh and one more article http://members.aol.com/pacificASC/artpg932.htm you can also pm Daz (as Kirby mentioned) to assist you. Keep us informed. If you want to know what you will get I would take pictures of the two you are thinking to breed and add them to the mutation section also.
