hello i wanted to know if someone could tell the differents between an english budgie and an american budgie,is an english budgie the one with the big head?

All budgies originate from Australia but over the years were bred to different human standards. There are now larger show budgies commonly called ?English budgies? which have very fluffy heads and some time seems to have a grumpy grandfather look to them. The other type, which is?commonly referred to as American, standard, or pet budgies, are smaller in build and have a more playful clownish nature. Both?types can make great family pets.

Merlin in my siggy is an English and Pretty is an American, I have posted alot of pictures of them in the Budgie Pictures if you want to see them better. Merlin by far is poofier and heaver then Pretty.

So you call the no-English budgie for American?

I have taught that if I buy budgies from UK, how can I tell thet I don't want an English budgie. Or does English breeders breed only English budgies?

Budgie breeders will let you know because they charge more for them, you don't see them at most pet stores like Petsmart etc.. Ask the breeder if they breed the American or English they know .
