Chewing the box means she is modifying it ready for use. Yes, she likes the nest box. Once she is happy with it she will seek out the male and start making babies.

She should be going in around 5 to 7 days. But some are different to others. I've had females lay in 9 days from being put in the breeding cage. Some don't lay at all for 21 days.
