Well now that I have the larger cage I am going out sometime this morning to the petstore and I am might buy a couple more budgies for the home. My question is how do you go about taming two at the same time? I have always only bought one but today I might bring home two. Do you keep them in a cage together or do you keep them in their own individual cages? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Never doing it myself, but working with Pretty and Merlin now if I would have gotten them together I would have worked on taming together. I think the ultimate goal for training 2 would be for them to accept you as part of their flock not you being the main center of attention. For example now I am to be part of the Pretty & Merlin flock because no matter what happens they would prefer to be with each other but will invite you in.

 

Example: When I talk to Pretty he comes and runs to me inspite of Merlin and listens to me talk so he has invited me to be part of his flock with Merlin. Because when I work with them together, Merlin watches Pretty and Pretty watches me unless I am talking to Merlin and then Pretty is watching both of us (Laughing out loud).

 

I work with finger taming them both together. Example: I will get Merlin on my finger and then I invite Pretty on and it works because Pretty wants to be by Merlin. To keep Merlin on my finger I entice him with millet (what a wonderful tool).

It does make sense, because I am really a part of my flock too and only adding two more would be like expanding. I think I may go with two today but in any case I will let you know what happens and if i have any more questions you know I will be here asking!!
