Hi there I'm new to this forum and I'm slowly getting back into budgies after a few years venturing into other things. I'm trying to record the ones I have and thought I knew what this one was- but after a night reading through articles on colourings I'm confused now!! He is Yellow with partial black bars on head only, and a slight green patch on rump (not visible when just sitting)[/img]

Does your yellow bird have iris rings ? The second bird IS a dominant pied

as in the white ring around the eye? yes he has "normal" budgie eyes.

I think he is a double factor dominant pied ( due to him having mostly yellow colour and the iris rings ) .......he is not recessive pied check here http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_colors.html

yep, definitely a double factor dominant pied. Looks like my little Fox, except she's white with blue rump!!

 

As with the iris ring.. does she have it in both eyes? My little Fox only has the ring in one of the eye. it's so cute... Apparently it's a trait in the double factor dominant pied. kinda reminds me of people with one blue eye and one brown eye...

 

In the picture below you should be able to see her 'non iris ring' eye.
