June 4, 200619 yr hi people, i have this budgie that lays heaps of eggs and then when they hatch i find them squashed i have a concave and she cant be sighting tight because there are still eggs. PLEASE HELp Have you any nesting material in the box as well ? Also check the babies crop.....are they actually being fed ? Some babies look squashed when dead but if you check they aren't being fed either. Also cold nights and Mummie bird may not be sitting in with the chicks.
June 4, 200619 yr You can get an over sized plastic egg. Put it in the nest before the eggs hatch. It will act like a support for the hen so she doesn't squash the chicks.
June 5, 200619 yr hey, thanks very much i will definatley try those things when the eggs come to the hatching time, thanks
