Hi,

I wanted to share my little bubs with you all.... They had a little photograph moment out in the sunshine today because I felt that they're finally all old enough.

The youngest, a really pretty blue

The next, a pied, quite white

Another pretty blue one, except for one spot on the back of his head http://static.flickr.com/71/158697871_ad0e018e62_o.jpg

This one, the oldest I think, is a very grey-like blue

Can anyone tell me about the darkness of their beaks? I notice the second (white one) doesn't have the darkness while the last two have quite a lot. (Anything to be worried about here?)

Cheers

Joanne

With the beaks...the recessive pieds have an orangey yellow beak. The "normals" have a beak with blackish tinges to it which disappears as they get a little older....It's a baby budgie thing. Gorgeous babies :)

Thanks for the replies, and Karen, thanks so much for clarifying about the beaks!

Can anyone tell me what colour you'd call the last one? It looks kind of grey to me, and I see people around here talking about "greys" but I had always assumed you'd need some fancy genetic stuff happening to get a grey, where mum and dad are just blues. So does that make it just an odd tone of blue? (or whould I be asking that over at the genetics forum?)

Cheers

Joanne

the last one would be a normal grey the check spots are grey, he is a cute. :D
