How Are You Suppose To Build A Cage.

Featured Replies

I've decided that i want to build my own cage, if i can. Once i get another cage I'm going to slowly be housing two budgies into it. I'm thinking of making like the flight/breeding cages 30 inches long 18'' wide and 18'' high. I might increase the height.

I want to make it out of metal rather than wood. I want to know if using wood what type of wood do you use. You need something that wont crack or get fat with water. What type of metal do you use for the nails? If you're making it out of metal what type of metal do you use? What type of paint do you use?

Are there any tutorials online for making bird cages? Or could someone explain how you would build one?

I know it's a lot to ask...

Thanks :dbb1:

ive never made a gace and dont think the idea to wise unless your actually building a large aviary. The only thing i can think of or have seen before is a cage made from chicken wire/mesh like aviarys.

daz made an amazing cage. Stock_cage_3.jpg

I really don't know where he got the "gace" at the front.

Those front I got from Karen from an old Cage... (Thanks Karen). But you can get them from pet stores and produce places.... in Australia. ;)
