Posted May 30, 200619 yr Hi everyone! I have been a bit absent from the forum… work, work, work and no play! I also have been occupied with my breeding budgies but decided to stop by to show you some of my results, so I hope you like them because I’m simply mad about my new budgies! These are the proud parents (Male named Jupiter and Female named Venus), some of you may have already seen their photos posted here: I didn’t know their genetic background so I was in for some surprises, I thought that probably green would overpower blue… yet… In the first round five budgies were born and five survived because Venus turned out to be Super-Mom! And Jupiter did great to. This is the oldest of the offspring (cinnamon wing): On top of this picture you will find budgie Nr 2 and on the perch budgie Nr 4: This one is Nr 3 (greywing): And last but not least, budgie Nr 5 (greywing): This last one is really special, wondering why? Well this one was born on my birthday!! This is a first time for me!! Here is a picture of mom and part of her babies: Hope you enjoy!

May 31, 200619 yr OMG i want to breed budgies so much! You've got some wonderfull new budgies. I love the spangles. You didn't get any green ones? Hi Mavi! Thanks No, no green ones. She is starting her second round (one egg already) and I'm already curious about what I'm going to get this time. Oh... there are no spangles in this bunch. I´ll be posting about other couples I have... spangles coming up!
May 31, 200619 yr Oh Luis, they are so beautiful. Way to go mama. If she is that great, you can probably use her as a foster mom in the future. So what are you doing with all the bubs?
May 31, 200619 yr I CALL BUDGIE 2 and 4!!!! Whenc an i come pick them up? Tomrrow, okay, on my way! ! ! ! ! ! ! GORGEOUS ! ! ! ! ! So, Jupitor is a spangle then??? Or are my eyes deceiving me on baby 4 and 2??? Kirby
May 31, 200619 yr gorgeous babies, I don't think that one is a spangle but a grey wing unless one of the parents are spangles and neither look spangled.
May 31, 200619 yr no one of the parents has to be a spangle to have a spangle and since it is dominant there is no way either one can hide it, so it is a grey wing.

Hi Shawna, I prefer to wait for the little ones to reveal if they are male or female (until there is absolutely no doubt) and for them to go trough their first moult, only then do I decide if I keep them or give some of them to friends and family…. I always have people asking for them! I’ve never sold any to pet shops… can’t even stand that idea! About the spangle questions, no, the parents aren’t spangles (as far as I know Lovey is right, spangle can´t be recessive), so the little ones aren’t spangles either. On this other post you can find my spangle budgies (mom is double factor spangle, and baby is single factor spangle): 10286
