So i am going to get a new male budgie next week, or until i find the right one. Next year i plan on breeding them. Right now i have this female budgie:

 

 

The picture is kind of dark but she is a regular sky blue budgie.

 

So now that i am getting a male budgie and am going to breed them, I am thinking about which pair would make the nicest looking babies. What color male budgie should i look for (wing paterns and everything)? What pair do u think would make the nicest budgie?

 

Do u think i should get a Green spangle and hope he's hiding blue so i can get regular green and blue + spangle green and blue budgies?

 

I really love the regular green male budgie...but i don't know do u have any suggestions?

I think it depends on what you want. If you get a green that isn't split for blue, you will get all greens. You could buy from a breeder to be sure. If you want some spangles then you will definately need a spangle. Yellowface would be nice too. Lots of choices!!!!

Yes, i don't have a breeder near me. I think im going to go with light green regular budgie. That way the babies will be either green and blue or the green babies will be masking blue.

If you want a the blue I would go with a spangle blue but if you want the green I would really try to find someone who knows the background of the parents and grandparents to see if they are split. Just knowing the parents doesn't guarantee the green being split for blue. If you get all green babies will you be okay with that? I would really do some research and find a good place that knows the lineage.

Yes i would be absolutely fine with green budgies too. Thats why im probably going to get a green one. But if i see a blue spangle in the store, i don't know if i will be able to resist (Laughing out loud).
