Coco Laid An Egg

:) Was cleaning the cages and yep, there it was, a little egg from Coco, my Saturday morning present.

Just when my lovebird Phoebe had finally gotten tired of her fake clutch I put under her (and shows no more intention of laying, thank goodness), Coco gets into the act. I let my budgies out in shifts so there is no way anything has been going on, old Comet trys to woo her through the cage bars although he tries to woo everybody excepting the lovebirds. And I can see she has an egg bum so it won't be the last. She wasn't sitting on it or anything, it was small and cold. And those poor folks that have problems trying to lay eggs............. :) It MUST have something to do with the water! :ausb:

:ausb: I am past shock at this point. :)

:bluebudgie: And the icons are back! Here is beautiful Coco!

:ausb Have been having problems and lost my narrative! Coco is hot to trot with old Comet but no way (don't know what she is as I am not into breeding but she is the most beautiful white with gray wing patterns cannot see the blue tinge in person but the photos show it), they would have beautiful babies but over my dead body!) She is a rescue and I have her stepping up but don't think she will go beyond that although I have been trying my best, stepping up is good. May she lose the egg laying thingee. :ausb:

she may be a clearwing dilute? still :bluebudgie::

:) Yes, unfortunately they do, lucky me. :D Somebody suggested I get a few free run range chickens awhile back so I can get fresh eggs routinely, guess they were right about that. :):D

:hap: (Laughing out loud) :hap:

:) No laughing at all here, have been gone the last couple of hours and came back to find that Coco had laid a new egg (not unexpected). Her eggs are much smaller than Star's, would have thought them to be the same size. Although she is not showing any interest in the eggs, best I leave them in. :D

:ausb: And unlike the rest of them, Coco has no idea what eggs are. Despite going through two cuttlebones a week, she just ate part of the shell of both eggs! Will get her a cockatiel cuttlebone today. Sigh.
