Just Had A Scare

One of our cats nearly got Jimmi!

I didn't even realise the cat was in the room, she must have sneaked in behind me and settled down on the bed. I didn't see her as I've been messy today and not made the bed, and she was curled up in the folds of the duvet. I

managed to make Jimmi and Custard jump when they were on the shelf above the computer and they flew off in a panic. Custard was fine, she just flew up high onto the cd shelves on the wall, but Jimmi isn't always a good flyer and she lost altitude and went in for a landing on the bed. The next thing I saw was a ginger paw reach out and bat Jimmi on the back. The cat made Jimmi crashland and winded her a bit. Luckily, Millie didn't have her claws out when she hit Jimmi and Jimmi didn't go anywhere near Millie's mouth.

I must have looked like a mad woman; I roared at poor Millie and got her by the scruff of her neck and flung her off the bed and then shoved her out the door. I know it's not the cat's fault, she's only doing what comes naturally, but I just had to get her away from Jimmi before she got hold of her properly. I'll have a sulking cat for a few days, that's for sure.

I got Jimmi up on my finger afterwards and she seems okay. She was a little bit ruffled, but otherwise uninjured and she doesn't seem too stressed out, considering what just happened. I'm keeping my eye on her, but I'm pretty sure she'll be okay. She's a toughy.

Oh my what a shock for you and Jimmi.. once my son let one of our cats through.. I did a double take as I saw the cat walk across the room.. lucky Buds was in his cage but the door was open!!!

I quicky scooped up the cat and plonked her out in the hall...

I hope Jimmi is okay and hugs to you for the shock.

What a scary incident, I am always looking around the corners when mine are locked up and it happened to us last week. I thought I had Mollii downstairs but there she was. I grabbed her and put her downstairs. I have to put the chair or something heavy next to our basement door because Maxx can open the door by pulling down on the handle :. Mollii is a jumper I know for a fact she could whip Pretty down even though he is flighed because he tends to flow low still.

So I know the feeling hugs.

oh dear, what a scare. I'm glad little Jimmi wasnt hurt... I do feel for poor little Millie though. hehe.. poor cat, didn't even know what 'hit' her... (Laughing out loud)...

oh no, what a fright for all!

l hope Jimmi is okay , phew what a fright .

l know how you feel , l accidentally didn't close my bedroom door properly while l had my budgies flying in my room today when all of a sudden my cat Sweetpea came running in , l 'm glad that my budgies Claire , Hobbes were both safety perched in their cage , l swiftly kicked Sweetpea out of the room .

Just thought I'd let you all know that Jimmi's recovered from her fright. You wouldn't even know it had happened. :D Oh, and Millie isn't sulking too much either. :(

I'm glad everything is okay. That is scary. I had something like that happen to me too. The birds were in their room, out of the cage, only someone had turned out the light. The dog went in there because the door was open and scared them, and Skittles flew out of the room in the ensueing confusion. She flew into my room, where the overhead fan was on, as I'm trying to calm the rest of the birds. I turned the fan off, and tried to catch her, but she is the only one that will not step on your finger. Of course. :( Anyway, she finally flew to the floor behind a desk, and when I went to shoo her out, the curious dog was on the other side, and Skittles flew INTO THE DOG'S MOUTH!!! She was in her mouth! Luckily the dog didn't clamp down (I think it freaked her out too) and she let go as I'm screaming NO NO NO NO!!! Skittles flew back into the bird room, I shoo'd all the birds into the cages so I could catch her, she bit me when I caught her (of course I needed a band-aid), but was completely unhurt. I was shaking for several minutes afterwards, let me tell you.

WOW ! ! ! :P Scary eh?!?!?

I have a story like Rianbows :) My Sheltie Mollie (who sadly had to be put down at the young age of 11 months) was outside of my room, where the birds were. Mollie never jumped, or anything, nor did i ever see her open a door with a curcular handle. So, i left Emma, and Chico out to fly. I first clipped Emmas wings for safety and taming, as it was summer time, and the windows are open (with screen) but y ou never know what can/could happen. So, after i clipped Emma, i put her on the cage, and got Chico ready. Next thing i know, Emma 'flew' or dropped onto the floor, becuase my puppy Mollie decided/figured out how to reach the door handle that was about 3 feet high, and somehow turn the round handle! Im 100% confident i did close it, and i always made sure it was becuase he have cats, and dogs. So, now here Emma, on floor, with my dog now beside me, while im holding open scisorrs and Chico. I clumped Chico back in the cage, closed over the door, and was shaking whole time! Mollie didnt see Emma on floor, but i knew she was going to. As i went to get Emma, which was on other side of Mollie (Mollie was between us) Mollie saw Emma, and grabed her! Emma tried to fly, so mollie ended up clamping both her wings together around her back!!! At this point i was TERRIFIED! I told Mollie to give, and grabed her mouth to open it just as she was running out of my room! Poor Emma was okay, and Mollie knew she wasnt on my happy list, so she ran dowsntaris and hid! (Laughing out loud) I never yelloed at her, nor did she see me that tense before, plus she was my little shadow, and fallowed me everywhere, so she knew i wasnt happy. I yelled at her when i said give though, so maybe she heard my tone of voice. Either way, that story to just goes to show you, other pets can always surprise you, when you least expect it, like my case, as well as Rainows and Janettes!!!
