I want to get a closer look! Ozzie: Pfft....trust you to have perfect feathers! Ozzie: I feel so unattractive! Ozzie: Maybe i can scratch it away! Ozzie: Didn't work did it? Ozzie: Well you can't see it now!!! Me: Don't worry Oz, i still think you're gorgeous!

A pin feather is a new feather growing through that still has it's protective sheath around it. Eventually the sheath falls off and a lovely new feather is left behind. They get a lot when they've been through a molt and their new feathers are arriving - they can look like little hedghogs when they've got lots of them!
May 18, 200619 yr Author I think pin feathers are the budgie equivalent of pimples. I always laugh when Blinkie 'breaks out' in zits.
May 18, 200619 yr Oh Bea I love the 4th one you Oz is doing so awesome. I can't believe how pink his cere still is, Merlin's is looking tinted bluish pink already.
